When I run Splinter Cell on my LG PM-225, however, I cannot hear any sound, and there's a big teal stripe running along the bottom of the screen that cuts off a good chunk of the game's dialogue and action. Is there any way you can fix this?

ok, i've finally gotten all my files fixed and back online. some of you are already familiar with it. ive gotten a dns that i have complete control over, so i dont have to worry about IP changes messing up the server anymore. the address is:

now remember, this site will ONLY work when accessed from your default web browser on your sprint vision device. if you try to use WebViewer or a similliar app, your probably wont be able to connect; if you try to access it from your pc, it will not work.

Takes a long time to get into navigation mode
Does not hold a great signal in my area
The business finder pales in comparison to Garmin's
It takes up 3x (literally) as much space on the phone as Garmin
Pros
Gives you options of type of route you want
Cheap gas finder is cool (albeit gimmicky in my opinion and not always accurate)
Speaks names of roads just a little more clearly than Garmin (I always find it funny when Garmin says "doctor" for "Dr" instead of "drive", although this would not throw anyone with half a brain off course...)
Garmin -
Cons
TeleNav reroutes more quickly, although the difference is very slight in my opinion
Always gives you fastest route (which I personally like), but does not give you other options like TeleNav for "highway only", etc

I recently spent a week in LA and wasn't real happy with either Garmin nor Telenav but I did finally get telenav to direct me from the downtown area to LAX. When I tried garmin it wasn't able to locate many places. I still haven't made up my mind definetly which I want to keep.
The smaller file size is definetly a plus for garmin and the maps are nice but they take longer to download. Telenave generally responds faster for me.

It's pretty easy. Just search for "free download site" and only click on the threads with titles that look helpful. Anything that isn't in the Multimedia Mayhem or Vision forum you can disregard.
The fact of the matter is that there aren't many free download sites. Correction: there aren't many free download sites that are actually worth your time. Check donblay's and **********.com. Also, VisionSamaritan I think will have his back up on Monday.

for some reasont none of the bowling games, and bomba download it hangs when the phone connects to download the files
xXx doesnt seem to work on my pm-225 (it just hangs on the screne where you press play)
but splinter cell works great except it wont let me go to any other options except play (cant get to controls) and there is also no sound but other than that its a great game

i also use the 4050, so i feel your pain. a good number of the games work, however the vast majority only take up about half the screen. thats one of the reasons i added the special 4050 section for images though :). and those are some very nice images (especially the olsen twins!)

im sure the 8300 is a much much, um, newer phone. however, any diehard 4050 user (like myself) has the phone for ONE main reason. the amazing screen quality. the 8300 cant even blow a fart in the general direction of the 4050. lets see, 240x320 resolution compared to only 176x220. 262k color, compared to a measley 65k color. im gonna have to go with, no :)

unfortunately, the only method of distribution i have is thru my webserver. if your phone supports it, you can use bitpim to pull the jad files from your phone once youve downloaded it from the site

i LOVED my 4050 ... and i never would have given it up for an 8300 ... and i am SURE of it 'cause my girlfriend has an 8300

It's $0.10/KB for everything you download without an unlimited Vision plan. These sorts of downloads don't expire.

Ah yeah, that was a dyslexic typo. For ringtones and wallpapers, you're not going to be charged too much. Games and apps, however... those will add up fast.

make sure you are entering the URL correctly on your phone, and make sure you dont use "www". if the problem persists, PM me your number and i will text you a link to the site and watch my server logs to help correct the problem for you

not sure i totally understand the question, but the weather app is the same app you would get if you purchased it from sprint. i believe it may only be a 14-30 day trial, but in that scenario, you can re-download the app every 14 days or whatever and reset the trial. there is no cost for anything downloaded from this site

Well, there's **********.com, which is a web-based media forum. You will need to register but they have a lot of stuff over there.
To access sites from your phone, start the browser and then hit the Menu button. There should be an option to Enter a URL or something similar to that, and that's where you enter the address you need. Hope that helps! :)

unfortunately, the sites security features prevent it from being access from a pc. however, ive found the easiest way to access the site is just to send the URL as a text message to your phone. then you just click the Go link from the text message, and you connect directly. no messy menus or anything to try to navigate :)

I just went there and it works fine.
Go to messaging.sprintpcs.com and send yourself the url like VisionSamaritan said...that should solve it...and remember to do the HTTP when texting an url so it becomes a clickable link.

502 problem could be because your WAP gateway sends headers/fields that are too big
for servers or other proxies to handle. WAP headers fields can be long...

My personal taking on getjar.com is to stay away from it. It's not worth the risk. Crippled my friend's phone once, and I've heard other people around here say it's done some crappy things to their phones as well. Always be weary of anything that's free, and IMO when it comes to phones, things not released by Sprint.

Giving him time is good...but I have never gotten a "no content" error before (other errors, but not that one). :deal:

It gives you that plug-in error because your phone doesn't support that file. It's misleading when it asks you to "Get Handler" because there is no handler to get. Your Katana can only, and will only, support QCP files for ringtones. Well, maybe MIDI too.

ok everyone i have this BIG PROBLEM thats making me do this :frustrate
and i need some :1zhelp: when i go to visionsmaritan.com...etc..
i go to images then i go to QVGA images and in that section i go to download some screen savers....when its in the middle of the DL it gives me the "ERROR 905 attribute missmatch" does this happen to anyone else? or only me? this never happened when i had my other upstage ......a

actually, a similar thing happened to me when downloading the QVGA wallpapers, i had to reprogram the phone with my MSL, and somehow that fixed it. not sure why
