I currently have unlimited wireless web msgs for free on my plan. I want to get an a680 in the next week or two and I'm curious if that will automatically convert to unlimited SMS when I get the new phone. Anyone have experience going from free unlimited short mail to SMS?

Yes, it will grandfather over to the SMS. I did the same thing with mine. You will enjoy the heck out of it once you start using it! Good luck and happy trails.

the 8100 uses shortmail (vision/web page based text messages), the 8200 has MO(Mobile Originated) SMS ... i think they coulda probably just firmwared the 8100 but then there'd be almost no point to releasing the 8200 cept for the speakerphone... 4920 is almost MO-SMS.

I just got an 8200 (used to have a non-SMS a800). I can send sms messages using regular sms (not shortmail), but sometimes I receive messages as shortmail. I just got my phone 4 days ago, so I'm not sure if I'll have to wait for my plan to get updated or if I need to call and have Sprint change something on my plan. Anyone else had a similar experience?
Thanks!

Did your ready link automatically work when you got the 4920 also?
