New Sanyo's Are Comming In The Fall

I have information that two new sanyo phones will be coming to Sprint in the fall for you sanyo lovers. The sanyo 5600 and the 7400.
The sanyo 5600 will be an upgrade to the 5500 and will have the following:
streaming video 15fps
1MP
240x320 display
QVGA DISLPAY
16MB removable memory card
ReadyLink
and AAC ringers (not sure what this is)at $399

the 7400 will have the following:
rugged like the 7300
streaming video at 15fps
176z220 display
Ready Link and changeable faceplates. at $ 349

sorry i don't have any pics to post. i have a hard copy and the photos look really dark, so scanning them would be useless.

Also there is the samsung a700 coming in June i was told, most of you know about this. There will also be a LG 535 with a MP camera and video, and a Memory card for the Fall.

AAC ringers are like MP3 ringers. A data reduced audio sample format.

CES had a few of the new Sanyo's that Sprint would get. This is how I knew Sprint would get a Sanyo with a QVGA screen. There will be a Sanyo EV-DV phone in the works that will put all you guys in debit trying to get it, INCLUDING MYSELF. Retail price may run $499 for it, subject to change of course! LOL!

i always said that if sanyo made a video phone with a 2.2 inch qvga screen like the toshiba would be the ultimate.basically combine the best features of the sanyo and toshiba video phones. I have both and still say the toshiba is the best phone for sprint for now. Is the samsung you speak of the new video phone that is out now? It comes out after the sanyo and toshiba and doesnt have speaker phone and has a smaller screen them both. The oly thing it has is the ability to use video as screen saver. Cant one phone have all the features instead of spread out between three phones so you have to get them all or pick which feature is most important. For myself and others the screen of the toshiba

Out weighs all. Even giving up closed flip speaker phone of the sanyo which i was used to from nextel for it. Speaking of speaker phone and nextel, sprint needs to make phones with full duplex speaker phone like them. The quality of opt of there is sub par. Glad to hear that sanyo is going to have a phone with the quality and size screen of the toshiba. If it has everything the current sanyo video phone has plus that screen will be almost perfect. Also good to hear that lg is making phones for sprint because they seen to make the best for verizon and we get them plus exclusive with sanyo. Does verizon even have and exclusive with any company? Think I'll pass on the a700 because it doesn't have true video-conferencing to begin with and supposedly no megpix cam (it's also ugly based on the FCC pics). I want to try out the vox for the camera and full duplex speakerphone and if the 5600's specs are real that will be a must have!

I agree half duplex speaker sucks and is out dated but how come no sprint phones have full. You say its thing of the part? Which upcoming phones will have full duplex? Also will the audiovox with 1mp cam be a toshiba and will that one have full dup speaker or will it be the usual gain one feature lord another forcing you to pick which phone has the feature you want need most.

Actually Sanyo's lates offerings like the V801SA for Vodafone and the A5505SA for AU by KDDI sport a QVGA display. I think that demand in the US for cutting edge technology is growing and Sanyo and Sprint would be foolish not to have something like this in their lineup as I could see it being a big hit over here. Now I'm not saying that I believe the OP 100% but it would definitely be nice to have something to look forward to for the fall/holiday season :)

Of course. And I definitely don't expect the QVGA screen to be the norm for all Sanyo phones to come. But this is the 5000 series and that is where Sanyo puts in all the bells and whistles just like the 8000 is the economy series (even though they're still like $280) of Sanyo. Another thing; after seeing how people flocked to the Toshiba just because of the screen, Sanyo will not be outdone on their flagship phone. :cool:

3)Who knows, way too early to tell. We'll find out when someone actually get's ahold of the phone I doubt any sooner (dont trust phonescoop specifications)

No, the Audiovox mp phone is made by Curitel like the VI600, and will be branded by Sprint. (Like most of the Touchpoint series)

I agree with you about that LG phone. I'm not willing to spend $400 on a phone (which is what the pic said the a700 will be priced at) unless it is around the same size as the 5250 or the a680. Hopefully the LG will be small becuase it was also one of the cheapest of the phones that we're shown.

I knew that sprint had the phones comming out since employees who post on this site were leaking small tidbits of info. You just have to wonder what Sprints competitors have around the corner. Tmobile and Verizon are probobly right around with the corner with their MP phones too. Why is sprint being so secretive? Is it so their competitors don't know how close they are to getting the new phones?

I actually just got a A5505SA for work--it roams on to Verizon in the US--and its QVGA display is just awesome. If the new Sanyo gets this screen it will be really cool.

The A5505SA is huge though, bigger than the VM4500. Let's hope the new Sanyo is smaller.

well you have a long wait then. in the meantime i've been enjoying the first qvga screen with teh tosiba at 2.2" its bigger then any other flip screens and it kills any of the verizon phones. the screen looks so good with digital pictures downsized to fit on it that ppl think its like fake or something.
so enjoy either the toshiba or the sanyo 4500 now as i am and believe me i'm already ready for a new phone having had these since they came out , and even i know i will have to wait at least until fall.

I'm mean like with all technology you can always wait, they always get better but then you mine as well never get anything and just keep waiting so that when your 99 years old you have the best phone, i dunno.

Anyway 1mp camera is great and all, but i sure hope they please concentrate on making full duplex speakerphone as that is a more important feature, it is not hard to do, it is not new as nextel has had it for years, and finally because the quality of current speakerphones for any phone on sprint that has it is not that good. though verizon falls below sprint everywhere else, and they have a couple phones with crappy speakerphone they do i'm pretty sure have a couple motorolla models with good possibly full duplex speakerphone. Can only motorola make good full duplex speakerphone? maybe because they make for nextel

So basically i vote for full duplex speakerphone first over mp camera, get first things first, i need it yesterday and i had it before that with nextel. In the end i may have to chose becaue it seems like no phone has it all and i will end up having to choose a phone with mp camera or full duplex speakerphone and i will have to choose the speakerphone.

It doesnt' seem that hard to me make, as all i want in a phone are features that are already out there.

flip phone, 2.2" QVGA 262k color screen, with 65k TFT external display. camera/video phone, with full duplex speakerphone.

basically the Toshiba but with a TFT external instead of its crappy STN. how can the phone with best main screen have a worse external screen then most of the others? plus improve the damn video of the toshiba, can't they make it as good as the sanyo? at least have audio and vid sync. and finally get the damn full duplex then the toshiba would be the perfect phone.

how do you use both phones? i have the toshiba and the sanyo4500 as added active phone on my account, but i just let my fiance use it. I did this because both phones had different features i couldn't part with and i figured i would switch it up every few months or whatever.

meanwhile i never switch adn always use the toshiba, sprint store can swap the numbers but they frown on it and wont do it on a regular basis or even every 6 mo they might get mad i dunno. so basically even with it active i dont get much use out of it. They better not be purposely spreading out the features on diff phones and in cahoots like ok we'll do the qvga screen and you do the good video with led lights etc so suckers like me will get both. put it all in one phone damn't.

so anyway btw, my question was how do you use more then 1 phone?

who would they be losing to in the phones department? noone else has close to what they have. they were the first good video phones. don't count that crappy non flip nokia.

I considered ATT because they had phones by Panasonic and NEC but in the end they weren't that great and were missing key features like no speakerphone or the good Pana had a crappy less then 65k external screen. and they didnt' have vid yet. i like the Pana and NEC brands over sanyo even just as a name and i'm sure they have good phones in japan , euro etc. but the ones here were not cutting it compared to sprints who seems to be always ahead and first in the us market with phones and that is why i went with them and what will keep them on top, as soon as they stop doing this and have crappy late phones like verizon they are done.

speaking of import phones, i still think that Sharp phone was awesome, are we ever getting that here, Can't sprint get Panasonic and NEC to make phones for sprint or are they exclusive to ATT?

Verizon isn't right around the corner with anything. they have crappy phones and are like a year behind sprint. they really dont even have external color screens and still trying to roll out their first video phone an LG who seems to make the best phones for them, so i'm glad sprint has LG to adn they aren't even exclusive to verizon even though they seem to make the only ways remotely worht it for verizon.

Tmobile id ont know as much about their current crop but i've looked and its never anything special. i'm not into being loyal to any provider for no reason, i'm with whoever has the best phones and right now that is still sprint.

hm, well before i responded i looked up both of those phones, and basically that LG phone does not cut it and is nothing to switch to verizon for. I will admit i would switch to verizon for that Moto phone from the sounds of it, its mostly eveyrthing i want, and just the fact that lot of freinds and fam are on verizon. i wouldn't have to pay for a second added phone on my line just so my fiance and i can have free mobile to mobile on pcs because she has verizon.

i said before i am not really loyal to sprint and why should i be? I am loyal to who has the best phones and that has been sprint so far and always way ahead, which brings up the key point. both of these phones are not out yet for verizon and who knows when. verizon was supposed to get the audivox version of the toshiba 4050 but hasn't yet and that is the whole thing they are late.

by the time they get that moto phone sprint probably will have had equal or better for 6 mo already.

I will admit though i do fear the moto phone, they are good and were good for nextel and their full dup speaker like that one boasts are good. why doesn't moto make for sprint? may be the downfall, i think sanyo is ok but i've always said its not everything that sprint brainwashes ppl and some here even think it is just because its exclusive to sprint of course they promote the hell out of it.

so if things go as they have , those phones for verizon won't be out until sprint already has equal and better and for prob 6 mo or more. what matters is whats actually out not what is possible and then never happens, again verizon could easily have the vox version of the toshiba phone but bottom line is they dont. sprint just better get its act together with urging some of the phone makers to do full duplex otherwise sprint will be done in by verizon thanks to motorola. do i need to work at sprint? come one get it together dont lose the battle now after being ahead for so long at least with phones. see i'm routing for sprint but get moto on the team or i might be gone.

couple quick things about that moto v710 that it is not the to be all to end all phone.

its screen is not 2.2" therefore smaller then the toshiba and the screen is not qvga its still TFT, so bleh

The only reason I said sprint was losing ground is because before this news came all the other carriers had announced plans to release megapixel phones with tons of features that IMO blow away what sprint currently offers (while we had not heard of anything from sprint except for that questionable audiovox coming out). But now that we know what Sprint has been up to I feel alot better about sticking to sprint. QVGA screens are nice, I used the toshiba for a while but it definately would not make or break a phone. It's just a screen and I'll glady have features like megapixel cam and full-duplex speakerphone over some hd-tvish screen.

Sprint has never entered into the holiday season (oct, nov, dec,) withour a few NEW PHONES. I'm sure this year will be no different. Be patient, I'm sure the wait will be well worth it with phones that have new and better features!

for the love of JHC! i wish they would stop screwing around with screens and mega P cameras and bring back a good small phone. how about a Vader sized color phone with a larger screen, speaker phone, normal camera / video capture, BlueTooth, and make the damn thing easily syncable with outlook without third party software. i mean, i HATE the new phones that sprint has, weak on usable features, and HUGE in size. hell, i saw a woman with a V600 motorola, and that thing was NICE!! and she was using the BT headset too. oh well, until they make a small phone with newer features again, i will stick with my sanyo 6400 (which was already a BIG step BACKWARDS from the sanyo 6000!!).

If you want a larger screen (QVGA) phone the phone in general is gonna be huge. That's just how it works. Speakerphone is another thing that takes up a deal of space especially if a camera has to be mounted on the phone somewhere as well.

While the phone itself is going to be bigger, it doesn't have to be as thick as Sanyo makes them. I guess its impossible for them to provide a flip phone to the US market that's less than 1 inch thick. Could you imagine a 5500 sized phone with QVGA, camera, RL, etc....... just much thinner?

hm, i'm always looking for what provider has best phones. i considered with going with one of the gsm like tmobile so i could get import phone like the Sharp phones. The price to buy the import phones doesnt' seem worth it? do you have place to get them for reasonable price? are they easy to set up on tmobile, will the store set it up for you? Sprint still seems to have the best phones without having to pay for import. What is the v300? sounds like a motorola model, is it anything like the v700 or whatever on phonescoop prospected for verizon?

I bought my phones from an importer in Chicago- like I had an Inno 90 for instance and then would check on HOFO for configuring them. (never had to use TMO to get it to work b/c it picks up service when you put the sim card it... only config you had to do was for internet stuff.

As for the 300- if you like the 4500 you'd like the 300- i changed out the ugly blue with a chrome cover and it was sweet- better screen and better pics. The setup was very good (surprised me b/c i usually don't like Moto's)

yeah i dunno, i dont like the specs. I'll stick with the toshiba and the 4500.

If verizon comes out wiht that v700 though that might be a diff story but i know they won't before sprint has way better for 6 mo or more as verizon still hasn't put out their vox version of the toshiba. how hard could it be the phones already made. by the time they get it out as prob their first video phone sprint will prob have a 4th on top of the 3 they have. verizon is just always behind.

Sprint signal did piss me of lately though, i keep getting roaming just after i stopped paying the $5/mo for free roaming and got charges on my last bill for it. i tried to do the *228 that verizon uses on my sprint phone and it said activating and like it wsa starting to work and i hit option 2 or whatever and then it just it couldn't do it and to contact verizon.

I would love to get any of my sprint phones to work on verizon. i've talked with ppl about it and read stuff but it seems like a pain and in the end you basically have to get verizon store to activate it for you which most wont do it supposedly. so i'm not going to get a verizon plan just so i can hope i can use sprint phones on it. anyway know anything how to do this though.

Also, what is the *228 for sprint to upgrade roaming or the phone firmware or whatever.

The 4500 isn't sold out. It was recalled and will be re-released soon. There were several issues with the phone. Read in other posts about, there are people that talk about the complaints.

I have information that two new sanyo phones will be coming to Sprint in the fall for you sanyo lovers. The sanyo 5600 and the 7400.
The sanyo 5600 will be an upgrade to the 5500 and will have the following:

and AAC ringers (not sure what this is)at $399

the 7400 will have the following:

hey guys. So whats is the estimated arrival of the 5600? Also do the 5000 series seem to have better earpieces than the 8000 series? I just got a 8200 from costco (from my old samsung a620). I can barely make out what people are saying half the time. They hear my perfectly but I cant hearthem =( Anyways Im going to exchange for the Toshiba which looks so beautiful. Just thinking if the 5600 isnt too far off and if the earpiece wont suck like the 8200 then I might just wait.

QVGA and VGA are terms for the quality of the screen

AAC is a music format, kinda like MP3

15 fps = Frames Per Second, which is the speed at which video playback/recording happens

i think i like the looks of the Samsung A700/MM700 over the sanyo 5600 but it will depend which one has the bigger screen and speakerphone. The sanyo 5600 says it is 240x320 like the toshiba 4050 so does that mean it is 2.2" in size like the toshiba? If so that is smart of them because after the toshiba i wont go to any smaller of a screen.

I will compare the Samsung A700 with teh Sanyo 5600. Whichever has better speakerphone and screen is what i will pick. I dont need readylink but it seems maybe the phones with readylink are not only guaranteed to have speaker but are slightly better. the sanyo 5500 speakerphone as well as the toshiba have about equal sub par speakerphones so i hope they improve it to be as good as nextels speakerphone which are full duplex.

My prediction is that it will have a lower end form of that type of screen similiar to having 2 way speakerphone which is not as good as full duplex even though its also rumored to have full duplex along with teh qvga. i think the key is rumored.
I would totally say mot 710 who? sure the screen will be better if it really is qvga as the 710 isn't , its just nice 2.2" size same as tosh. granted the only thing the 710 will then have over the 5600 is the bt. but i'm also worried that he mem card for the 5600 says only 16mb . for the 710 you can get 64 and 128 mb so far i think.

yes, all current RL phones allow you to use both the earpiece and speaker for RL...guess we all have to wait and see now don't we for the speaker for a phone which hasnt even gotten FCC approval yet?

I just brought the Samsung MM-A700 but am still in love with the Sanyo 5500 (although it was a piece of crap). I went through 3 different sanyo 5500's before just changing my phone all together.
Now that I have the A700 I love the new layout as well as software that they installed (i.e. the phonebook, menu options, etc...) I am looking foward to seeing the Sanyo 5600 when it comes out to see whether or not I should stick with the samsung that I am with or swtich up to the new sanyo.
Anyhoo... for all you sprint and cell phone pros... i was wondering if someone out there could compare the 5500 to the 5600 with all the differences and benefits that might await in the new 5600? What is the big deal about a memory card and what do they do? Will it have Ev-DO? Do you think it will eb able to switch faceplates like with the 5500? regardless I liked seeing them side by side. Sad thing is I dont really love either and think Sanyo never makes that great looking of phones. Even sadder is that the 7400 a phone not even worth bothering with looks better then the 5600 which although I am hyped for the features especially the 2.2" 240x320 qvga screen which I am skeptical about. But the looks of the 5600 are even worse and why does it look like they have a little circular yellow flash like the toshiba. One of the thigns better about the 5500 flash was that it was dbl wide and looked white when off isntead of yellow and also dbled as a multi color led.

The Moto v710 is better looking then any of these sprint phones including the 2 i have, toshiba and 5500. Still i will definately be getting teh 5600. If specs are true, it looks to have everything I want in a phone right now except bt which i guess i'll still have the 710 for that. Too bad that the 710 which has been out has every feature that the 5600 will have which wont be out until jan except the higher res screen and the Sharp T-150 for tmob which is currently out has all the features of the 5600 except speakerphone. regardless I liked seeing them side by side. Sad thing is I dont really love either and think Sanyo never makes that great looking of phones. Even sadder is that the 7400 a phone not even worth bothering with looks better then the 5600 which although I am hyped for the features especially the 2.2" 240x320 qvga screen which I am skeptical about. But the looks of the 5600 are even worse and why does it look like they have a little circular yellow flash like the toshiba. One of the thigns better about the 5500 flash was that it was dbl wide and looked white when off isntead of yellow and also dbled as a multi color led.

The Moto v710 is better looking then any of these sprint phones including the 2 i have, toshiba and 5500. Still i will definately be getting teh 5600. If specs are true, it looks to have everything I want in a phone right now except bt which i guess i'll still have the 710 for that. Too bad that the 710 which has been out has every feature that the 5600 will have which wont be out until jan except the higher res screen and the Sharp T-150 for tmob which is currently out has all the features of the 5600 except speakerphone. So pretty much if you currently have either the Toshiba or Sharp phone plus the 5500 and the 710 then you have everything the 5600 has and then some. So its a wonder why its coming out so late when Sprint is usually the first to have newer phones and tech out. I think they are so stubborn on sticking to this Christmats/new years date on the 5500, 5600 series that they are now late to the game. They must not realize that one of the main things that saved them and sprint was having the best newest phones first.

hm, i read through a lot and never post. But, i have to now say that though he is long winded and sometimes repeats himself he at least has something useful to say and it is his opinion after all which he is free to state even if it is a strong one.
Also it seems a lot of what he says is just fact, and i personally would rather read that then ppl just flaming and/or trying to act clever or cool. But thats just me, if you wan to flame anyone that has something useful to say and waste the thread flaming ppl and complaining or whatever else you would would call it that you do thats your choice to i guess until you get moderated. I'm not sure what a troll is or does but what you are doing seems worse so what do we call you if that person is a troll? personally i've been a lurker that just read some posts but didnt' register so i guess i can't talk, but now i have and will post
