i just got to looking at all the phones i have owned and how many different activations i've had and was wondering how often do most of you change phones.

I've been with sprint since March 5th, 2003

16 different activations
13 different phones

i've owned 2 8100's, treo 600's, and I500's at different times. had the same 5300 activated a few times. and this does not count the 2 replacement I500's i had.

I think I have a major cell phone addiction/problem.

I've had 12 different phones since I've been with Sprint beginning in early 1999. I used to get new phones often (mostly since Vision has been available) but now I'm over it. I figured there's just no need for me to spend so much of my hard earned money on cell-toys. Its tempting, but when I look at my bank statements and see the money I save by not falling back into old habits, I feel good. I think me and my Toshiba will have a long relationship, filled with lots of temptation to get somethin new. :hee:

I think it started back in 1999 for me when I was working at Radio Shack,
I started with an analog startac, then a digital Nokia 2180 with the Bell Atlantic Mobile, as well as a Touchpoint 2100 with Sprint, then a Sanyo 4000, then back to the Touchpoint 2100. Then lets see, I think it then became Verizon when I switched again, and go the Moto Timeport. From there I went to AT&T when I had a small dispute with Verizon, I had the Moto 2297, then the Nokia 8260, then 3 Nokia 3360's during the time I went back to Verizon again cause I wanted the Kyocera 6135, and dropped it a month later cause I got a better deal with Sprint of the 6135 and then the i300. After the AT&T 3360 it went to a Nokia 6260 I think, then I dropped everything but the Nokia and got the Sony Ericsson T68i, then the T720. Then I had T-Mobile cause my wife and I needed a better deal, first phone with them was the Samsung S105, then the Ericsson R520m, from the SE T300, all the while I went back to SprintPCS again and had the N400 Blue, and the A500 and then the I330. With T-Mobile I then went to the Treo 270, and then the Nokia 3650 and then the T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition, after that I went back to the SE T68i. When I went back to SprintPCS again, I got the Vi660, and then the 5500 when is what I have now. I think I got everything, thought I might have missed one or two, I can't remember the order I had them in. The Visor Phone, and the AT&T SX56 as well as a Panasonic Versio. Well I think that is everything.

At one point, I thought I was the worst, but some of you have even crushed me! I've been with Sprint since 1997 and can't even count the number of phones that I've had.

However, I also tried a number of GSM phones (and service on the side)... So, let's start the list...

Q-Phone (my second phone, but I can't remember what phone they gave me when I signed up)
Motorola Startac 7867(???)
Samsung 6100, I300, I500, A500
Sanyo 4000, 4900, 5000, 5300, 8100
Nokia 6185 (I think that was the first SPCS one that looked like a GSM phone).
Treo 300, Treo 600 (on my 5th one)
Nokia 6225 (two of them)
Touchpoint (the original one and the later color one)
Sony Ericsson T608

Moo is going to have to help me fill out my list because I can't remember all the others that have passed through my hands over the years. I am proud to say that I skipped all the RL phones because I didn't see myself paying for a service that I would not use.

On T-Mobile I had:

Sony Ericsson T68
Sony Ericsoon P800
Motorola something (those always sucked)

ATT

Sony Ericsson T610
Panasonic GD55 (import)

I checked out Michelle's Ebay auction when she jumped ship from the 6225 and it was over $200 with 3 days still to go!! If I thought I could get someone on Ebay to buy my used phones at 95% of what I paid for it and what they cost new on a regular basis, I would be gunning for a position on the list myself.

lol 4real!!!

As for me, check the sig. Longest activation was almost 2 years (either 6185 or 8500), shortest was 1 week (6225), best phone for me was between the 8500 and the 5300 (6 months). I had 2 5300s (1st one conked out after a month), 2 N400s (memory error), 3 Treo 600s (Vision and battery problems), 2 6185s (dropped 1st one on its antenna), 2 8500s (shattered the screen of the 1st one) and I think every other phone I had just one of.

On top of that with some of the phones I used a spare 3500 or 8500 in between just to use until the new phone came in or what not. I have quite a bit of activations :p but not as many as most of you!

I ebay my phones.... or return them. Most of the time it's ebay tho.

out of all the people that responded here and all the phones listed here i think it is interesting that only chucka has had enough taste and confidence to have a G1000 listed in their past.

my past is not so illustrious. i have had a samsung 6100, LG 1100, sanyo 5300, hitachi G1000, sanyo 8100 and now settled into a toshiba VM4050 untill the i550 comes out. this list spans about 5 years of service.

I've had 11 different phones w/ 5 different cell companies (SWB, Primco, ATT, before T-mobile?, SWB/Cingular) BEFORE coming to SPCS!

Now, Here's the list, gonna try to give Michelle a run for her money!

Qualcomm 2700, 2760, First PDA phone (forget name!)
Denso TP, TPDB, NeoPoint (not sure who made it!),2100, 2200
Motorola Startac, v120
Kyocera 2035, 2255, 3035, 6035
Audiovox/Tosiba 9100, 2032
Nokia 3585i

That's 41 phones listed, not counting (unless it changed phone model) ERP's & warranty exchanges (those would add at least 10 more phones to the list!)

Dang that is alot of phones. Good thing I worked for SPCS most of the time I've been with them as I got serious discounts before they went to the mail in rebates only thing. Not to mention phones I bought from other employees while there too!

I had to edit, forgot to mention that between my Wife & Kids, I have had 23-25 different lines on my acct and a total of over 70 phones due to CSA changes, Canx'd lines, and other ERP & Warranty replacements!

Cell one 95-97 couple piece of crap phones don't remember their names

Nextel pioneer 97-99 couple huge moto bricks plus the bonus large bills don't remember their names, still have one somewhere.

summer 1999 - pres. Sprint pimp found me and beat my azz down until I started remembering phone names.

Denso Touchpoint original, still have lol
LG 5250, 5350
Samsung 3500, 8500, a400, n200, a460, a500, n400, a600
Sanyo 5150, 4900, 5300, 8100 navy and silver, 5500 current
Hitachi p300

You can double or triple the sprint amount with number of times the phones were replaced. The a500 five times replaced!

Nokia 3585, 3588i, 6255

Sigh....ok...My name is Amber....and I'm a phonoholic. Ive been with sprint for about a year. During tht time I have added 5 lines....three are neccessary, the other two were just so I could have two extra options when deciding what phone to carry that day. Ive had:
The Treo 300
Treo 600
In the past three months I've had:
Two Hitachi P300's
Two Samsung A660's
Audiovox VI600
Two Nokia 6225's

I'm in a perpetual game of musical phones, constantly calling to swap out phones on each number. As my username inplies, I hate to wait.
I'll never keep a phone long enough to qualify for a new rebate (cept maybe the Treo 600), so that isnt an issue.

As soon as a new phone comes out that I want, I will prolly retire one of the current phones in lieu of the new one.

Sigh...I feel better now

Saw your red phone pic...nice! Your nail polish matches the phone. A very important fashion statement.

I swear that you guys/gals are the biggest phone whores ever, having meets and everything! But I have to admit this site has really grown on me and I visit nearly everyday (Michelle's avatar is easy on my eyes too ;) )

I am probably the smallest phone whore on this board, I got my 4900 in March 2003, just so I can use it for the unlimited Vision to connect to my iBook, and I still have the phone. The screen is cracked all the way off, and just hoping that the body glove cover will protect it long enough until the 4920 comes out.

BTW, I got it at Best Buy for $89, and got a $89 rebate from Best Buy and another $89 rebate from Sprint. :D

On the unfulfilling note....I guess phones are filling a void in our lives.... It's just a matter of time 'till I find religion! Which one...who knows??!! My checking account needs me to find something ASAP!! :)

I actually NEVER sign on SU from work but I finished all my work already today and I think it would look bad to leave this early so I just decided to chill on here for a bit before I go.

I am a therapist and my position is salary so I can leave whenever I want as well. My fear is that if they see me leaving early TOO often, they will add additional clients to my caseload. I'd rather stay at work and pretend to be busy!

Do you treat people with Sprint Phone-a-holism? :)

Well, I am an addictions counselor so I guess that would be right up my alley ;)
Step 1 of AA: "We admitted that we are powerless over alcohol and that our lives have become unmanageable."
Replace "alcohol" with "Sprint phone" and I'm sure many people here could be eligible to work a recovery program!

Thanks to Zebco, I just added 1 more phone to my list.

The VI600! I really like this little phone! I will give it a real world try and let you all know how it works.

Thats 42 phones now! NOT counting replacement phones.

Nokia 3585i
Treo 600
Hitachi P300
LG 4NE1, 1100 (for 1 hr! Shot it!), 5200, 5250
Samsung 3500, 8500, 6100, A400, N200, I300, I330
Sanyo 4500, 4700, 5000, 5150, 6000, 6200, 4900, 8100, 5300, 5400, . 7300

I had to edit, forgot to mention that between my Wife & Kids, I have had 23-25 different lines on my acct and a total of over 70 phones due to CSA changes, Canx'd lines, and other ERP & Warranty replacements!

since july 2003(when i was still 14) i got an n400, then an a620, a600, a680. i know its not much but i'm probably just as addicted as y'all but when you dont have a job and absolutely no income its hard to find enough ways to get new phones for cheap. i think i kept my n400 the longest (6mo.) my a620 for 1 mo. a600 for3 mo. a680 hasnt been delivered yet but i still own it!!

So, that is 45 phones I have had since being w/ SPCS since Aug 00.

That equals out to 1.13 phones per month since first activation!

Now that is some list.

Hey Michelle, how many more do you have to add? Let us know!

Goodness, I'm amazed...all of this is both awe-ing and a little bit worrisome to me. No offense.

I wish sprint had phones we could swap into per the occassion, but oh well.

I've had

Qualcomm 2700 (the original Sprint phone) B-R-I-C-K, but a lovable one. I used to fall asleep while on the phone on my pillow because it was so heavy.

Kyocera 2035
Treo 300
Treo 600.
