Anyone bought the leather case for the sanyo 8200.
Can you please post some pics. I am thinking og getting one but wanted to check it out first (the one from sprint).
I cannot find one on the website, other than pouches, which I do not like.
Thx

Good luck finding a case. I need something. I was hoping that www.super038sg.com would have something, but I guess not.
How do you make a phone and do not realease a case for it?

I received the leather case when I swapped my 5500 for the 8200. I personally do not like the leather case. I went out and bought a pouch. Anyway, I have attached a pic of my case...taken with my 8200.

The leather case pictured above is just awful! The seam around the flip is sharp and scratches at your ear when you talk. The case itself adds so much bulk to the phone. This is the one thing I miss about my A620...a nice leather case that didn't add to much bulk...and I only had the Samsung leather case. I am hopeing some new cases will get released soon.
I forgot to mention how big of a pain the buttons are to push through that thick plastic barrier. Not sure if it is due to the plastic thickness or that the buttons are recessed a little in the phone (or both), but for a few button you really have to push hard.

That looks like the case for the A620. OMG it is not cute! I bought that thing from the Sprint store back in November, and only when I got home did I realize it was fat and ugly and how I just wasted my money. When I tried to clean the smudges off the plastic window, did the black stuff/coloring of the case rub off too, causing the window to be spotty and worse than before(PERMANENTLY)......LOLLOLOLOL
My advice stay away from that 2 part button case.
People always ask me why I keep my phones wrapped in tissue..it's because I can't find a case that's appealing to me and to be shown in public...lol
I have to keep my things clean and neat.
Even when talkin on the phone, I put tissue over the flip/ear piece.
Now the A500 clear cases...those were a Godsend and easy to clean! I still have all of mine.

I agree the case added bulk, buttons were hard to press, and harder to open fully. I was having trouble opening the flip because the place where it hinged the leather "bunched up" and prevented it from opening. Maybe over time this would improve. But I wasn't willing to wait. I have attached a pic of the pouch I got for my 8200. I like it much better.
DaveM

I like the pouch. How bulky is it compared to the leather case? Also, where did you pick that up at? The one other thing I hate about the leather case is the blue casing on the 8200 I have is not seen. The blue is a great color and it is a shame to hide it behind a thick and clunky case.
tjhawke
05-06-2004, 08:34 AM
Its not too bulky, not as awkward to use as the leather case. The phone pulls out nicely from the case. The clip swivels. The phone is not loose in the case. I picked it up at a cell phone reseller....Communication Palace. The are pretty big here in Lansing. I have attached a pic of the phone in the case.

The phone is slippery without one and I am afraid of dropping it
The SPCS Guy

I already dropped mine. Fell right outta my hand while I WAS talkin to my friend on the speakerphone(no scrathces or dings, got lucky). It's very slippery. And I'm not one to be droppin phones, so that's why I need something. I called accessories line back and the girl said she asked her manager or soemthing, and she said thatit's one piece. It's ok, because when I get it, if it's not what I want, it's going back.

i'd give an arm and a leg if bodyglove made an ion or scuba suit for the vm4050. those cases are so nice. had an ion for the vga1000 and 4900 and a scuba suit for the 8100. i like the ion cases a little better, but they are both great. if they are going to make one for a phone, though, they usually release it before the phone is released. so no hope for the toshiba.

OK, so I went on a scavenger hunt just to get this ION body glove, and no luck in Brooklyn.
I tried Fulton Street and Montague Street, and NOTHING. Fulton never has anything.
What I did manage to see was the case pictured here, and I bought it, plus an extended battery and a headset (it's like I'm a kid in a candy store when it comes to electranics)
The regular case fits. ok, It's not that much like the A620 case. so, my question is,
NONAME could you please buy me one of those ION body gloves and ship it to me and I will definitely reimburse you for the charges and shipping thru PAYPAL. You can even send me a BILL to my PAYPAL addy: Gemini365i@DSLR.NET
Let me know what you decide.
Thanks a lot,

I went to Best Buy at lunch and they have a new leather case for the 8200 by CellSuit for $20 that has a swivel on the back. Hi, do you have or know the model number of that case?
I checked a few sites and only see some universal cases and would not like to order the wrong one.
Its fit seems to be rather nice, and although neoprene would not be my wife's first choice for her new PM-8200, she does want a flip case that is not cheesy or as universally disliked as the Sprint leather case.
Thanks,

I saw that case today. It seems nicer than the Sprint Store case, but I am going to hold out for the Body Glove Ion pictured earlier in this thread...it seems very well made. As soon as someone can let me know the exact model number I will order it.

I decided to wait and call back this cell-phone accessories store at the mall. She said oh we got the By-Tech 8200 cases in and I said is it the clear shuttle case trying to see if it is the same one that's on eastman wirerless and she said yes. I said how much is it she said 24.99. I was like really it's 7.89 on the internet I'll just get it there I said. But with shipping it's almost 15 bucks so I may just pay the extra 9 or 10 bucks just to have it now and not wait for one to be shipped. I found one at our local Best Buy (Sanyo or Best Buy recommended brand??)and the cost was way too much. The pocket clip is a lot shoter then most and it easily spins and makes the phone opens up a lot which makes it turn and hang upside down, sideways etc. Hard to release for a call. I returned it right away.

sup guys! ive been looking for a nice case for the 8200 also. this phone is great! i never seem to put it down. i see the fusion case which is just sweet. the body glove is not bad either but im looking for something in a t-style case. i found this one but the colors are a bit dark. looking for something brighter.
http://www.wirelesscloseout.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=3769&cat=349&page=1
its a t-style case cuz it has the straps that go up and around to when you open it the top of the case doesnt scrunch or move around which i really LOVED with my 8100. i had a t-style case for that and couldnt live without it. anyone know of any more t-style cases for the 8200?? even if its dark colors. as long as its cool

That is the case I went with.
The pictures don't show it, but it is actually designed to look like scuba gear.
They did a nice job with the blue patches and the way the threads appear.
But................
Phone will not properly close everytime.
The leather along the bottom, near mic, is too think, and prevents closure.
I trimmed it off, and it now works well.
I also noticed the same type of thing with the ION body glove side view.
It also is a bit bulky, perhaps too bulky, but it does look cool if you are into scuba, and it does protect.

Yes, the clear plastic covers the keys and screen in the grey Body Glove ION case. Which was something I hated because it screwed up the look of the screen. I modded mine (meaning: I cut out the plastic directly around the screen and was much happier). This didn't effect function very much at all. One side seemed to like to "bubble" out a little bit around the screen, but not so much as to be noticeable.
But that phone was stolen a week after I bought the case so my new phone is now naked. I am also on the hunt for a new case for mine and I can't really justify getting the same case again for $30(from my local sprint store). It is the best looking case for the 8200 that I have seen, but I didn't like the bulk that the clip added. When you remove the clip it isn't so bad.
The hunt continues.

Got my clear case too (thanks asiarn94!). As far as cases go, which I'm not generally fond of, it's great. Doesn't take away from the beauty of my red 8200 too much. And it protects against those pesky scratches. Definitely a good purchase. :)

I get compliments on mine all the time. Mine came with a black and a clear clip well I had the phone clipped on to my purse and I'll be damn it fell off right in the parking garage of my work right on the concrete. 1st time I have dropped phone since I had it. If you look closely on the side you can see a small scartch or chip on the silver part but it's ok. I don't like the clips at all. I also kind of want a clear holster too. But I have this thing in my car and the back of the clear case it fits in there good enough and it hangs from my dash and I can just speaker away while driving. Rose

The pic looks pretty good, I'll give ya that! The case looks like it only holds on to the bottom of the phone with the strap around the antenna. Correct?

The official Sprint case actually scratches the paint of the back of the phone where the buttons are on the case. It really sucks I was sooo mad when I noticed the DEEP scratches. My gf's blue one did the same thing.

I have the black-and-blue Bodyglove case on my 8200 (Fusion, I think?). Anyway, although I think the exterior looks cool and I liked the button, the plastic over the screen was just too much--that beautiful color screen looked like it had a horrible moire pattern (as though oil was trapped between the screen and the plastic). I was going to return the case...then I realized the top and bottom halves of the case hold together with a snap, and the snap button is on the bottom half, the strap is on the top.
So, I unsnapped the top from the bottom. Now, I have a non-slip case on the bottom half of my phone with plastic over the buttons and a button on the back of the case. Nothing interferes with viewing the screen on the top and the phone closes much better this way.
I feel kind of dumb paying for only half of a case, but it's on sale at Best Buy this week (25% off all cell phone accessories), so it was only around $17.

Here are a few pics of the Body Glove ION case that I picked up at the sprint store. (fits nice) :)
i have had my sanyo 8200 for a couple months now. i bought a plastic holster, and as always it broke. i can't seem to keep them for more then a month.
i hate leather cases, they add to much bulk and IMO look like crap. when i was at the sprint store i saw that body glove ion case and tried it on. i have to say it is the best fitting case i have ever seen. i have been using it for a week now and i have only found one draw back. the case material is "hard" and where the stiching for the clear plastic and backing for the flip top meet, there is a seam that will rub your face and kinda hurts after a few minutes. i use a headset for long calls so it really hasn't been an issue. i am thinking about trying to cut or file the plastic edge down abit to see if i can make it smoother.
until www1.vajacases.com makes a flip case for my phone, i will stick with the body glove ion...

i guess so, i just searched for cases and sanyo 8200 and that is one that came up. thought i would bring it back to give 2 cents instead of creating an entire new thread.

I bought the clear case at this accesory stand at the mall. I like it but sometimes it's hard to push a button like I hold in a number to speed call someone and sometimes it's hard to do in the case. And it's easier to text message with it not in thecase so sometimes I just take part of it out of the case but it's a nice clear case. Rose
