It must have excellent reception. It is a phone. Make it compact if it's a Smart Phone (like the Moto Mpx 200 or the Samsung i500). The screen should be easy to read. If it's a flip, please provide an external caller ID. Bluetooth or an IR port would be nice. Don't make it silver. =) Decent battery life, four days at least without a charge.

Cuteness, is a factor to me. My phone has to stand out.
I like customizing my phone. Changeable faceplates, a variety of color choices for a model, phone skins, colorful LEDs (thanks to Yi Chen). Offer custom packages.
Price is my second factor. Unlimted multimedia packages (ie..picture mail, RL, video, vision) Multimedia should not be higher than the minute plan.

7. Comments: The size of the phone is a big deal to me, I walk around with something that looks like a brick. It has to be a phone that looks sleek, sophisticated and should be fun to own. Oh, and price is an issue, since Sprint is always updating their phones.

Excellent reception is primary. Another thing would be a built-in mail client if it isn't a smartphone. One HUGE thing for me is if the browser supports JScript, so I can check my bank statements from my phone. Basically a Treo 600 in a i500 body (a la i550, which is coming soon ;))

Blue LCDs. Small phone with a fairly big screen. More memory. Better camera. An extended battery included with the phone like the 5300 did.

seems like it made it too easy. i'm surprised the prof didn't disqualify it.
Anyway without answering the survey. My philosphy wiht what you want in a phone has to be realistic to for the time and your country. Of course there is tons of features i could come up with i would want even based on real world technology or phones in japan etc.
But i think a realistic request based on features that are on phones now in the us is a fair request yet it never happens.
All i would ask for now in a phone would be the combine the features of the upcoming Sanyo 5600 and the Motorola v710. they share most of the same features except one has bt and one has qvga display. you would think it would not be hard to combine these into one phone. its all stuff that is is currenlty out and used.
That is all i would ask and its very realistic yet not available. thast all i would want for now at least until new things become available, but if you start wanting features/abilities that aren't even released yet in phones then you are asking too much and have a long wait.
