Anyone else having a problem with their 4050 voice mail notification icon staying on the screen? It's been on my screen for like 3 days now. I have no voice mails in my inbox or any saved voice mails. It's not really a problem just thought it was kinda weird. I was just wondering if this happened to anyone else.

just hit the menu button and go to the voicemail option. there is an option in there that will clear the voicemail icon.

you probably know the difference, but the voicemail and textmail icons are similar enough that they can be confusing...my wife has this issue all the time where she tells me she's deleted all her voicemails but the icon won't go away...every time I check there is a text message on the phone, and after I access it for her, everything clears up...in any case, Dumwaldo's advice should fix the issue if it is in fact a voice icon...

one other piece of advice with Sprint...when you are logging off voicemail after listening to your messages, always hit the "*" key before hanging up...this will guarantee you don't have a leftover icon by hanging up to quickly...

since we're talking about voicemail i thought I would ask another question. I know with verizon the phone will display how many messages you have and every time a new message comes you will know ( even if you didn;t get the call) is that a provider thing or a phone thing.l I would tend to think that it was a provider thing because I've had a heck of lot of phones. anyone know>????

On the 4050 it will actually say how many new voicemails you have. None of my other phones, which were all Samsungs, ever did this

I have the same problem on my LG5053. the secret is to wait a few seconds after you press 7 to delete the message. for me, if i press 7 to delete the message then immediately close the phone, the envelope icon stays. now i press 7, wait till the icon disappears before i flip my phone close. no problems now that i've figured it out. PCS customer care had no clue and couldn't help me out.

i've found in all my old phones i have to wait til it starts to say "you have no more messages" and i guess thats when it sends the signal to clear the icon out.

are you sure about that, do you have to do something specific because i have the 4050 and all it says is new messages.

btw i have had sanyo's kyocera's, samsungs and none of them have done it

I had a hell of a time myself trying to remove the mail/text notification icon from my phone. (LG VI5225) I made sure I had deleted all my voicemails and text messages from my phone. I made sure I hit the "*" to exit voicemail. I called tech support from Sprint. I turned off my phone, removed the battery and turned it back on and nothing worked. I even sent myself a text message and deleted it but that still didn't work. Then I left myself a voicemail and deleted it and that did the trick. I hope this helps someone out there. :)

Isnt there an option in your phone which deletes the count?

Nope, there is no option to delete the count on this phone.

I've had this problem a couple of times and the method that "Sergio" describes to clear it works best. It appears to be a handset issue, but I can live with it!
