Somebody should sticky this or make it an FAQ.
Neither Sprint nor The Shack ever gives us info this detailed. I'm printing this and putting it in my Store Reference Guide right behind the big list of Sprint CS phone numbers.

T1 thru T4 is a picture communication error. If you previously have had picturemail access, the usual fix is to powercycle and try again.

When you have the error on the screen, bring up the browser menu and select "Home". If that doesn't work, go back to the browser menu and select "Restart Browser". It will again go to Vision home on it's own. Then try to hit a couple of other links. There's a chance that the page you're trying to view is causing a browser memory issue (not the same as device memory), basically, too much content for the phone. As long as you can go elsewhere, it's just a single webpage issue. I'd say at that point to just avoid that site.

These errors are by no means a set rule as the error codes are manifested differently across different devices and are indicative of different issues. For instance error 1012 on a pantech card is indicative of failure of a network switch to IOTA the card. Although it might appear to successfully IOTA, the process has been known to truly be incomplete in HCM. Just thought I'd share that these error codes are transient and seldom mean the same thing twice on the "smarter" devices.

StarmanDX

909 means you need the Dev root enabled on your device and/or that your permissions requested in the manifest file are different than permissions requested in the jad

StarmanDX, thanks for info on 909 :).

I tried to download the Shozu app and got a 909. I think I can get the .jar and .jad and upload it via a 3rd party site.

Is there anyway around this error?

Do I need to change something on my phone (RAZR v3m) &/or in the .jad file?

Where do you get or give /dev/root access?

For reference the contents of the .jad are:

shortmail is for a 2g phone (i.e wireless web...if this is so she access texting via the web) I'll try to see what the troubleshoot is for that ...don't know off top of my head. If not having this issue before ... do the end all to beat all turn off and back on and try again or remove battery for minute or so and try again) HINT...power off phone once a day even if just while taking shower (for couple minutes atleast)

how about error 678 or 686 what does that mean?

ATS_Helper
04-11-2008, 05:22 PM
DUN error 678 is usually equivalent to an Error 67. Invalid Username and or Password. On connection cards it's usually because your account is suspended. On phone as modem on most phones it's caused by not having a phone as modem Username (Not having a PAM plan or when you added it the Username didn't get provisioned) or if you have a Centro it's caused by having the Centro :P

Data stopped working on my 2005 Sanyo vi-2300 (FORBIDDEN _ you do not have permission to access http://vision.sprintpcs.com) and profile update fails with error code 1012 (in the code list).

It worked last year with Accuweather WAP site and profile update.

A 2003 Sanyo SCP-8100 also has no data, which is required for outgoing texts.

At the local Sprint store, a new phone could access the above URL.

Has Sprint blocked access to data for WAP browsers?

Is there some fix? The 8100 is a nice phone but not useful for texting without data.

The 2003 phone tries to log in with the wrong (previous) username, but the 2005 phone has correct username.
