This has been updated and will be placed in the FAQ section.

I typed this up to stop all the posts asking the same questions, now everyone can go to the FAQ to get this info.

ERP = Equipment Replacement Program (This is per LINE, not Acct!)
(You are allowed 2 replacements in a 12 month period. This also means that if you used insurance to get a replacement phone on May 1st, 05, then used it again on Sept 15, 05, you will loose ERP for 12 months. This means that you won't be eligible to get ERP back on that line until Sept, 16, 06.)

Cost = $5.00 per month (if you stop ERP, you have no insurance!) (if your not being charged $5 then you never had it!)

Deductible = This is insurance on your phone. If you need a replacement, you WILL have to pay a $50 deductible at the time of replacement, NO IF’s, AND’s or BUT’s. NOTE: As of Mid February, 04, certain accts are now eligible for having the $50 deductible added to the acct. You may not demand, request or otherwise to have this added to your acct if your not eligible.

How to = Several Options: You call SPCS to do this!

Create new account: Add ERP at this time, IMMEDIATE coverage for Lost, Stolen or Broken phone.

Activate new line: Add ERP at this time, IMMEDIATE coverage for Lost, Stolen or Broken phone.

Activate new phone: Add ERP at this time, IMMEDIATE coverage for Lost, Stolen or Broken phone.

If you did not add ERP as listed above, but want it, here is what you have to do.

Call LOCKLINE (800)584-3666, Not SPCS, to add it.
You will get an automated system. Follow the directions…do not try to get a live rep to add it, they will instruct you to call back and follow the automated system!

Your phone that is being added to ERP must be functional and able to receive calls. This is because the system will generate a call back to your SPCS number to verify it is working, and that you have possession of it. (This is to reduce fraud!)

Once you complete the call back process, then you will be told of a 21 DAY WAITING PERIOD, at that time, your bill will be charged the $5 monthly charge and you will have ERP on your acct.

If you add ERP this way. DO NOT call on the 21st day to place a claim, you must wait until the 22nd day. If you call on the 21st day to place a claim, they will deny it, note your acct that you tried to get it replaced at that time, then deny any replacement on that phone as long as it is active on your line!

NOTE: If you had ERP, did a plan change, number change, CSA change (MOVED!) and you check your bill and you no longer see ERP, then call in immediately to get it added. Ensuring your acct is noted why it was added at a later date. (if you “know” someone who can add it, then try to use it, your acct MAY be reviewed to verify FRAUD was not commited.)

If you do not verify ERP is there after above mentioned reasons, then 2-3 months down the road you need it, you will be told SORRY! Since you had plenty of time to review your bill to verify all was correct.

If ERP gets added during any other time, and there is no reason, such as a handset change, ect, then you may be denied ERP replacement and may not be able to add it in the future either.

This should pretty much answer any questions you may have. The rules for ERP are very strict now, and getting around them is hard to do.

SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more.
