After a couple of years waiting for Sprint to release another flip phone from Motorola, I got tired of waiting. I bought the V60x. As you may be aware, you cannot get this phone from Sprint. It is only available from a Mercedes dealership at a very pricey $599. I was able to negoiate with them and picked it up for $522. This is only about $15 above their cost (I am told).
Well, I'm not rich and I don't drive a Mercedes, but you don't need one to buy or use the phone. I use a Cell Socket which is for the V60 series. It works great. If you don't know about the Cell Socket, it's a device that you dock your V60 in and allows you to connect any regular telephone to it. I personally use mine with a cordless phone as I much rather talk on a large handset rather than the cell phone.
The V60 has been out with other carriers for quite awhile and enjoys a good reputation. It is very solid and works like any other V60. I particulary like the voice activated dial, as I can no longer see the numbers without glasses. This makes using it in the car very easy. The main reason I'm posting this is not-so-much to review the phone, but to let everyone know that there is a new Motorola that you can use on Sprint now. Alot of people have been asking for this for quite some time. It's ashame that Sprint and Motorola haven't kissed and made up before now. Hope this helps someone.
