I have had this phone now for over two months and have had an opportunity to take it all over the US and abuse the he** out of it. It is the buggiest phone I have ever owned. I can pretty much cause any electronic device to malfunction, but this is absurd. The phone was not ready for release.

The Good - This phone looks awesome. The menu is sweet, the camera works decently well considering it is attached to phone (though the flash is terrible and night shots are difficult), the browsing is fast, the java apps load fast, the memory is solid, the internal display is very bright and the colors are rich (though the resolution could be improved), the audio is loud both for calls and for realone/mobitv, the voice recording holds up to 10 minutes, voice recognition is cool though more trouble than it's worth awesome

The Bad - The wireless web crashes - SMS messages require that you log onto the wireless web. The vga 1000 likes to shut down the browser all by itself about 40% of the time when you are browsing. If you've just carefully etched out a 160 character sms or e-mail telling some girl as nicely as possible that you never want to see her again, this can be very frustrating. Sometimes you don't know if the message got sent or not. All of the other applications, utilities, and tools within the phone do the same thing, they shut down about 40% of the time. This happens when you are looking at pictures, dialing numbers, looking at websites, saving phone numbers, writing in memos, changing settings, anything.

The Ugly - The phone has three glitches that are just totally inexcusable. Sometimes if you dial a number on speed dial, hang up quickly, and then dial a new number, even though the phone shows you dialing the new number, it is still dialing the old number. This is embarrassing when you are calling a girl, she says she doesn't want to go out tonight, you dial the next girl, and even though the phone shows the new number, it calls the old girl again. Now if you've been drinking and you're driving at the same time, this can get really bad. The second big glitch is the camera. Sometimes, the phone will start taking pictures non-stop, going into camera mode, snap a picture back to camera mode, until it has filled up the memory. The only way to fix this is to shut off the phone and remove the battery for 60 seconds. Anything less doesn't work. The third and final glitch is in real one. It cuts out sometimes in the middle of a real one broadcast returning to the browser.

With all these glitches, the phone is still a nice piece of work. Hopefully the firmware upgrade will fix the problems, but good luck getting it. The people in the sprint store are usually a bunch of pompous people driven by commission, so I can't seem to get any help if I don't want a new line of service. But, Sprint is an awesome company as far as their service and pricing, so like a battered wife with a rich husband, I stay.
