HA HA HA, where you see it was water proof. because it clearly states on sprintpcs.com "Durable PCS Phone designed to minimize the wear and tear from heavy use (not water resistant). 5.06" x 2.18" x 1.10" and only 5.3 ounces."

Upperking, don't listen to all these armchair hypocrites. They've all made mistakes too. Just put it in the microwave on high for about 3min 15sec. You should be back in business then.

Wow, you must have a defective unit...I threw mine in, and it works fine! Take it to the sprint store and ask them for a replacement.

Another thing, upperking, the ruggedness of the RL2000 makes it great for extreme games. I like to jump out of an airplane, call one of my friends in another state on the way down and have him decide when to pull the ripcord. Whaaaa, what a rush. Try it!

Did they exchange it for free? If so, you just got really lucky. Welcome to the 5500 club.

Let's just hope that they don't bill your acct. for that. They might have had a tech look at it after you left. Not trying to jinx you or nothing, just make sure that you're covered.

Call and add lock/line insurance to your account and after the waiting period is over report the phone damaged. You will be without a phone for awhile but for a 300 phone its probably worth it. You can check your voicmail from a landline in the interim.

The insurance is only 4 bucks a month and then a replacement phone is only 35 bucks.

P.S. You are a moron for throwing the phone in a pool on purpose. At least when my 4900 got fried it was because I was completely smashed in a hot tub & it jumped in due to no fault of mine. (It was whoever called's fault of course)

There is a difference between water resistant and water proof. That is great. Come on what are you new. Thats great keep up the good work, and try the microwave thing but only for 15 seconds.

I live in Miami, and let me tell you about the rain, when it rains down here, it RAINS. I dropped my 7300 in a puddle and it was working just fine, now as for throwing a cellphone in a pool...I don't know about that one....seriously though, why waste a perfectly good cellphone on stupidity...some people seriously need to grow up and get some common sense.

Wow dude, i wonder if your new 5500 is waterproof. My 8200 was in a car fire and was fried then drenched from the fire dept. I got it back and called my girlfriend to tell her what just happened. Arnt sprint phones the sh*t? Truely undestructable.

If it worked with a 8200, will the same apply to a 4920? Gee, gotta love Sanyo phones! LOL

Why yall gotta BE STUPID. Leave the boy alone. sbiz got on his ass but I think he had enough in the last 10 months. **** that, this thread is dead, go to something else everybody, this thread is no longer useful. It's funny but it get old talkin about the same person for 10 straight month, dude ain't that damn important. And for the record, if it says water proof, it should be on your warranty and you should've got another one free instead buying a new phone. At least you got a good phone this time.

Revive it, hell! After The Sincere advice I gave Upperking, I drove through a rainstorm on my bike and drowned my bike. Tried a hairdryer before the microwave, but couldn't resist after Sprint said it wasn't covered. It fried nobely, but failed (cont).

After it failed to perform, I chucked it toward the dog (who never misses a catch). He stayed high for three weeks. The letdown was so great it took me a few months to buy another Vision phone on eBay.

One could never have T9 'd A response in such detail were it not for the bar I'm in - Murphy's in Boca Raton. The music is absolutety cracking. The T&A is spanking and the bartendress is the dream of tastebuds!
