View Full Version : Handset Upgrade Program
Sprint PCS is starting a new Handset Upgrade Program (http://pcshandsetupgrade.sprint.com) on October 15th. Qualifying users eligible are those who have not upgraded their handsets within 18 months. Meet that criteria and you can receive a mail-in phone rebate. See if you are eligible by visiting this new web site by entering your PCS phone number and billing zip code.

Just as an FYI to the earlier posts, it appears that the upgrade pricing is equal to the current rebates out for the respective phone. In example, currently for the Treo 600 you would save $150.00. Got this info from a Sprint salesperson. Hope this helps.

A Sprint rep said I could keep my current plan of 300 anytime and unlimited nites starting from 8pm for $30 and add on $15 for vision plan. Anyone done this yet?

The site says I am eligible, but not how to get a rebate form, or how to apply for the rebate...

The handset upgrade program is an instore only promotion... It requires a new 2yr contract to get the full rebate and 1yr you get half of the offered rebate. You pay full retail price at the store and the the rebate check is mailed to you. You have to be on a plan of $35 a month or higher to be eligible.

I have 3 Add-A-Phones which come up eligible at that website, but I'm wondering if they'll be rejected later, because one is free, and the other 2 bill out at $10 per month.
$35 or higher -- even if we divide the total monthly cost by the number of lines each?
We have a total of 4 shared lines for ~$80 (before taxes and surcharges), which only averages ~$20 per line --
BTW, the rebates for the Nokia 3588i, the Samsung VI660; the Samsung A600; and all 5 Smart Devices are $150 with a 2 Year Contract, or $100 with a 1 Year Contract.
Booo, since it's in-store, it's not gonna be valid for the T608 when that finally ships, I guess :(

Maybe this is just old being from 6 months ago, but you get these rebates for buying a phone w/ a 2 year contract. Whether you're new, had a phone for a week, a year, or 3 years.
Just sounds like marketing mumbo-jumbo to me.

If I upgrade with a new handset, do I get to keep all the current options on my plan? (ie. $35 for 350 min starting at 8pm, unlimited nights and weekends, and $10 vision per month)
Or is like starting a new line all over again? Would I have to pay activation?

Yes, you do and no, you won't.
