Does anybody know if the Motorola Sprint/Nextel ic502 phone can be activated as a pay-as-you-go Boost? I currently have an i265 as a "second" cell phone I use as a walkie-talkie only at work. I have it on a Boost plan. I'm asking about the ic502 because I used to have one as my Sprint/Nextel contract phone. And the walke-talkie (DC) call quality was the best. Any ideas would be a big help.

Thanks

Nope, not without a complete runaround by customer service and jumping through a bunch of loopholes.

Will not work as the ic502 (and all the other models starting with "ic". i=IDEN; c=CDMA) is a hybrid device. This means that the walkie-talkie works on the IDEN network, while the phone/data are on the CDMA (and only on one of the three frequencies).
Boost (with walkie-talkie) works solely on the IDEN network. If you were to activate a boost SIM with an IDEN device and pass the SIM to the ic502, you might get it to work, but ONLY for walkie-talkie.

Hope this helps.

Thanks very much. That's exactly what I was thinking too. May be tempting to get an ic502 on eBay and put my Boost SIM card into it and see what happens. I suppose I could always put the ic502 back on eBay if it didn't work. Walkie talkie is all I use my Boost for anyway.
