AKRON - What happens at LeBron’s camp stays at LeBron’s camp.

A minor controversy erupted at the LeBron James Skills Academy on Monday night when two videographers recorded a pickup game in which Xavier’s Jordan Crawford dunked on James.

Gary Parrish reported on CBSSports.com that a Nike representative confiscated tapes of the dunk after conferring with James.

A representative with Nike, which runs the camp at the University of Akron in James’ hometown, made no mention of Crawford’s dunk. He said the tapes were confiscated because videotaping of after-hours pickup games at the camp is not allowed.

“Nike has been operating basketball camps for the benefit of young athletes for decades and has long-standing policies as to what events are open and closed to media coverage. Unfortunately, for the first time in four years, two journalists did not respect our no videotaping policy at an after-hours pickup game following the LeBron James Skills Academy,” said Nike spokesman Derek Kent on Wednesday.

A spokesman for James said he had no comment.

The camp features 80 top basketball prospects from around the nation.

Crawford said his dunk happened in the first 20 minutes of a game that lasted about two hours and did not prompt any reaction from James.


“We just went on playing,” Crawford said Wednesday. “It was exciting just to be playing on the same court as him. I can see why he is so great at what he does.”

i agree. so what. you wont always be the best or be unbeatable. always going be someone young and cming up that might be better at you or be able to do something on you. you cant stay at the top forever.

It's not that people forgot, i't's that right now that is not the topic at hand. Kobe's mistake has been covered and recovered consistently. It had it's 24 hours in the spot light and we moved on. But one thing you can't do is lessen what Lebron did buy comparing it to the actions of a previously player to downplay the incident. So is this really what it's going to be like for the next ten years? When Lebron messes up we say, "it's okay because so and so did so and so and that's so much more worse?"

Oh Lordy lol I still think Lebron is good. I still think he was the deserving MVP last year. He has a chance to be one of the greatest players ever, but like I said before, Lebron is not deserving of being called "king", "the chosen one", etc. and yes this was because of his performance in the ECF. He was exposed as not having a post up game, traveling almost every single time he goes to the basket (somehow the refs miss it?), and having poor sportsmanship.

Yea, you might say one series big deal right? Nope, Lebron was on stage and failed to reach the Finals. He couldn't even reach the Finals?? c'mon now that's not supposed to happen to the best right??

I haven't watched every single Lebron game, but just enough to see how awesome he is, yes I said it. I THINK LEBRON IS A GOOD BASKETBALL PLAYER, but when everyone starts to label him as the best and Lebron himself is believing it, and confiscating videos of himself being dunked on due to him not wanting to be embarrassed, then he will be "Queen James". :)

Lebron as great as he is hasn't proven anything to be the best yet. Being the best means winning a championship.

The thing is Lebron doesnt' have the talent as the Lakers/Boston/Orlando but the Cavs still pretty close on winning a Championship. I think people rush to judge him, he's only 24 and there have been a fair share of great athletes that never won a Championship which I doubt will happen to Lebron. Lebron is no where near as ****y as Kobe that's for sure. I do think Lebron was a poor sport walking off but there's probably been a fair share of superstars that have done that but since it's Lebron James he gets singled out.
