View Full Version : BIS service should be priced as an add-on to Everything plans

It seems to me that one of two things should occur with the pricing on the Everything plans if you do not use a Blackberry phone:

1) The Everything plans should be priced lower and the BIS services should be priced as an add-on

2) There should be a discount applied since you will never use the BIS services

Some may say that you could say the same for the other things that are included in the Everything plans like GPS or Sprint TV. I would disagree with this because ANY phone can utilize those features. Whereas only a Blackberry phone can utilize BIS services.

Why should those not using a Blackberry phone have it included in the pricing of our plan? Thoughts?

Leave it alone!

It's only asking for another way for them to Nickle and Dime us to death.

I have the 2 line, $129.99 Everything Plan w/ 1500 ATM and UNL everything else.

While I don't have a BB, my wife does. Which is great that the price doesn't go up.

As mentioned in another thread, SEP's could be cheaper, they just won't do it.

I say leave it as is. If they decided to make it an add-on, I'd bet they would lower the price of the everything plan, just make it more for people using blackberries.

Easy big fella. I was just posing the question. I wasn't starting a petition or anything.

They wouldn't lower the price, they would simply remove BIS from SEP and require an additional fee of say $10 for BIS and $20 for BES...Be careful what you wish for.

I'd say leave it as is. Its called everything for a reason. I understand what you are saying but one of big points is to simplify billing by eliminating all the add ons.

I just wish it was a 1000 minute EP plan for families at $109.

You already answered your own question. why have sprint tv not as an add on, because not every phone does it (even though you stated they do). It is easier for the customer not to have to worry about add ons, everything is bundled up, hence the name of the plans. Secondly it is easier on sprint, because less confusion on billing.

Its called "everything" for a reason. It includes most everything your device (no matter what device) can do. It doesn't include international LD, international roaming, or PAM and thats about it.

No use in debating it really, it is what it is. Maybe sprint will change it, but with the value of that bundle its a great savings over AT&T or Verizon on many devices. It may not fit every customers needs, but then again no carrier will either!

no it wouldn't. we see enough people call and call and call and call getting the free BIS add on to normal vision plans already. the same would most likely happen if sprint made it an extra add on. "i already have data, why do i have to add another $15-20 to use a BB?"

This will not happen as you are paying the same price with or without the blackberry.
A normal data pack that includes all the features included in SE would be the Sprint Pro Pack for $30. The blackberry personal pack is also $30.

I have the 1500 plan and to me it is a great deal for $129.

Definitely leave it alone. Not just because my whole family uses BBs either. Having the Everything plans the way they are a"lows switching among phones on the account without having to change anything about the plan, so nothing to screw up in the process. It's a good deal even if you're not on a BB, as long as you use data and nav.

I'm with leave it alone even though I don't have a Blackberry or will probably ever get one. Some phones don't support the GPS feature or Sprint TV either. I think the Everything Plans are pretty good and won't mind switching to one eventually (not yet) to get a Palm Pre once the bugs are all worked out.

Like I said, you don't pay anything more for Blackberry so it doesn't make a difference. It will never be changed.
