I know, such a teaser of a thread. Anyway, the skinny is, in a moment of weakness, I switched cell phone plans. I was reading the writing on the walls about an Everything data plan being required for the PRE. The icing on the cake was that they let me keep all my add-ons. I'm not sure if there is any truth in the "Your expired codes wont transfer", because mine did. I knew that because we have so many excess minutes that pro-ration wouldnt be an issue. With that, I was impressed that the usage page was IMMEDIATE. There was no wait and hope for the best scenario like in years past. It plainly shows old plan and usage, and new plan and usage.
So, for those of you wondering if your no longer offered features will carry over, I had a somewhat in depth conversation about these. The thinking was that, no matter if it is an expired code, the only codes that are removed are the ones that are duplicates (Roaming, picturemail, UL text, etc). All other codes stayed as is. It was a type of grandfathering. Ahhhhhhhh that lovely word we like to talk about with our plans we work hard for.
Good luck!
Edit: Old Plan $60-1200 AT Free & Clear (1000 ADDITIONAL shared bonus minutes)/ FREE AIRAVE & SERVICE/ UL Text/ Free Pick 3/ UL Incoming/ 5PM Nights/ Free PV/ Free roaming (Confirmed with Sprint all attachables never expire)/ 23% NVP= $99 As far as we're concerned we have our own Simply Everything Shared Plan
P.S. Sorry KTEE, I couldnt sell you my old plan. :irked:

HA i wouldnt count your chickens before they are hatched, this is sprint we are talking about after all - what they say and what you get never seems to be the same thing :)
things like pick 3, 5 pm NW, roaming, incoming, the 1000 extra minutes, unl text - wont matter since you have an UNL plan ... i wouldnt be surprised if the codes get removed
and i thought i read several upset threads about losing the NVP discount on the SE plans .. months after they had the plan withe discount already.
also if they DO remove it those 1000 extra minutes, you might go into overage with proration -
ew what a mess they COULD make of your bill ...
be sure and let us know when your bill comes out with the changes if it all really went like they said!
and Good Luck!

I dont have an unlimited plan. I can keep my NVP, and all other add-ons. I am not worried. If the Pre sucks, we'll go to blackberries, now that they're included.

true i apologize, i assumed the SE plan :)
still .. Good Luck with the rest of it!
i am anxiously awaiting the pre as well .. and am hoping no forced plan changes like the instinct had .. because then for the price difference i will switch to the pretty pink blackberry curve over at Verizon

No way I'm changing plans just for a phone lol... well maybe a BlackBerry. I will wait for the user responses to the Pre before making such a change.
One thing that I have noticed lately with eChat and eCare is that they are really pushing new family plans instead of trying to work on your current retired family plan... sucks.

Congrats Adam!!
I really wanna do this.. but even if I could keep my add ons, it would still be a fairly large jump price wise. How much are you paying now?
Edit: It'd be a large jump cuz I'd have 4 lines and the additional two would be 40 bucks alone, but you only have the two right

Yes we have two lines. I won't know what the bill will be, but here is how I imagine the bill will finally shake out:
$129
+$10 5PM nights
+$10 Unlimited Incoming
+$14 TEP
_________________________
Plus taxes - 23% NVP = $140-$145
The only thing that made this change somewhat bearable is that
A) I can choose any phone I want, even a BB.
B) I was able to keep add-ons
C) Wife got her monthly cell phone reimbursement increased to $50 per month.
So really in the end, we break even.
Good luck!
