I currently have a fair and flexible share plan. I get for free, nights starting at 7:00 PM, 500 free text message on 3 lines, & unlimited on another line.

Will these perks expire on my contract date?

If I renew what can I expect from Sprint?

I would love another line moved to unlimited texts (Daughter's texting is increasing). I would also like a data plan. I would be willing to pay 10/month for these features.

Is this asking too much? Any advice on an approach would be appreciated.

You can probably get data provisioned free (if you're lucky, otherwise ~$10) and unlimited texts for $5.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

My contract expired a while back. By calling Sprint's telesales I was able to keep my old family plan with 550 minutes (we don't talk much and use Sprint to Sprint a lot, so I do not need the 1500 minute family plan). Got 1000 text messages per month for 3 phones for $10. Added a 4th line. One phone is a BB with BIS. Activation and shipping was waived on all phones. Plus I got a $100 credit. With our employer discount the total monthly bill is about $90 before taxes and fees.

Had I paid full plan price with the published plans, I would be looking at $150 before taxes and fees. So am I am happy camper.

Words of advice: be cool and calm on the phone. Remember that you are doing a business negotiation. Tell them how much you love their service, and they will show you some love. This same approach worked wonders when I negotiated my monthly cable/internet/phone bill down by a whopping $70 a month, and got new services added to boot.

Good luck.

I expired last year and only re-upped when I got a Rant to replace my dead Sanyo 8400. Sprint called me every 3-4 weeks with different offers, upgrades, and encouragement to sign on for 2 more years. When I didn't want a phone they offered credit towards my bill just to get a signup.

Let them call you and see what you can work out. If they can't do what you want, then call in to negotiate a new deal. If you don't get it, and you don't NEED to change, stay where you are on Month to Month. They can't change the plan on you while you're out of contract. If you've got a good plan just negotiate for addons.

good luck
