Hey guys, would really appreciate any input. Okay here is the scenario, i am a sprint premiere customer (been with sprint since 2000) who has been out of contract since sept 08. I have a ****ty f and f 700 minutes basic plan. I have tried to hold out as long as I can but it looks like i'm going to step into the 21st century and add a text and internet plan. I have a sanyo katana that is due to be replaced, but I am not in love with any phone currently on the market. I like the instinct but the ****ty browser and no wifi is pretty much a deal breaker, I like (but don't love) the touch pro but i'm not in love with the price and battery life. Over the past couple of months I have been researching on this and other sprint sites about getting good plans and add on perks. Okay, here is my question, would I been in my best interest to wait a couple of months (new phones become available namely pre and new wifi blackberry) and take my unsigned contract status and negotiate a new plan and phone purchase at the same time or could i just upgrade my plan now and wait a few months until the palm pre or the new blackberries become available?

I think I would wait and get the phone and plan together.. Mainly because we have no clue what plan they're going to require for the Pre.. And, there's no reason to have to go through the hassle over again in a few months. So, I say it would be best to wait until the Pre is out, if that's the phone you have your heart set on.

I agree. I am in a similar position, I am a premier member (1998) and my contract is up in May. I want a PRE and either pick 3 or free incoming. I do not want to negotiate the perks just to find out that I have to switch plans to get the PRE. I think you have better bargaining power to get it all done at the same time. You can always get a perk thrown in by trying over and over as time goes on like many here do on a regular basis.

I respectfully disagree with the advice that was given. If there are features you want, then I would negotiate and get them now before the perks become dead. Perks like pick 3 should transfer if you have to change plans later and it is usually easier to get a few things at different times compared to everything at once.
