Do you plan on buying the Pre at any time? Not just on the release day.

There are literally thousands of posts dedicated to the Pre here at SU. I wont be surprised if many buy it early on.

And I am involved in a lot of them but I am just doing some research for myself. Sorry if anyone else thinks this is a silly poll.

GolpherZX - yeah make sure to get plenty of "rest" that day. That means no getting out of bed. You should have something like a gadget to keep you company because you might have to call in sick the next day too *cough* app store *cough* since that cold gets worse a few days after you start getting it.

If it's anything like the Instinct or Storm or even the newest Curve, no one will need to do more than take an extended break- they will sell the ridiculously under-supplied amounts within minutes of store opening.

First day here baby! I think I am catching :cough: what you guys have :cough:
Eh, i don't work except nights during the weekend, so I will have most likely almost an entire week before I have to go to work :D But I am planning on getting it release day for sure, or if like the instinct they send out an email to those who subscribed to get it a day early.

I haven't been this excited about a phone since the "Anita Bryant" concert...hehehehehehehee
Count me in on purchasing it the first day, first hour, first minute, first nano-second!!!!!!

I really don't want to be an early adopter so I think I'll wait about 3 or so months to find out what quirks others have with it. I'm especially concerned about how third-party software will go with the phone.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D062; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320)
I also plan on waiting a while. I want to see what apps will be available down the road and make sure all my needs and wants are covered before I buy.

I was going to wait a few months after it's out but being the phone junkie that I am I'll probably have it the day it's launched. I'll give it a 29 day test drive but as long as the phone part is good I doubt I'll be returning it.

Depends on plan requirements. May not be getting it at all, but hopefully will be first day adopter! Assuming that it comes out before July and something else doesn't peak my interest.

I'll get it soon after its released if it allows tethering through pdanet or some other program and if it doesn't require a plan change.

I'm getting mine on launch or pre-launch (hopefully like the Instinct). Also, when I hear you people saying, "oh i'll wait it out for later in the week or several months after", I think of the Touch Pro, and feel sorry for you all. lol

Hopefully it's actually in stores first...but the way these launches have been going i'd say it'll only be available through telesales at the beginning. Either way I'll be purchasing in store the first day or ordering it the first day.

Well that depends on if there is a pre Pre launch like the Instinct. The stores sold it 1 day before Telesales did.

I did not vote because if it does not come out by April I most likely won't buy it.
If it does, then I will buy it day one.

I'm holding off on upgrading to a new phone. As a dedicated sprint mobile user for 10 years now, I see it as my sprint given right to own a Pre. I just wish I could pre-pay for it. I would buy it today. I looked online for it overseas and the price is a little steep for one before the release date. Oh gosh...I'm so happy. I just can't wait lol!!!

Better? :tu:
Well, got had one less letter than have, I'm lazy that way.
And to answer the topic, I'll buy when I know it's operational. No need in carrying a phone that doesn't work. It may look good, but sound like .... .

A plan on getting one as soon as it comes out, not sure if it will be the first day or not but I am getting one. I had hoped to get a touch and was all excited about it until I started seeing complaints about hardware etc. I think this time I am just going to jump before I see anything to talk me out of it.
I am still using my good 'ol M1, Awesome phone, but I need to move into the smartphone/PDA market. I know this phone will have issues whenit comes out, most do. I just hope they are not huge deal breakers and sprint lets me keep my plan! If they make it SEP only I will have a hard time doubling my bill to justify this phone.

The "Everything" plan is a requirement of the two year plan.
This sentence confuses me. There hasn't been any plan requirements on any phone but the Instinct (and no official announcement about the Pre contrary to some people inferring certain things) so I'm guessing/hoping there won't be one on this phone. Perhaps simply unlimited data. Sounds to me as if alot of the phone's functions wouldn't work without data and if you allow people to activate it without a data plan, you are opening yourself up to those $1000+ phone bills from people who are clueless that they used data. Then you'll have to spend months on the phone listening to people complain about "I didn't know, I'm not paying that bill, blah blah blah". If there is an everything plan requirement, there are smaller tiers of "Everything plans" that you can sign up for starting at $69.99 I do believe.

Don't know exactly when, but the month of the release is when I make my 'Pre' purchase. I won't activate it though because I like my V950 too much.
I just want it to have it. Will tuck it away for safe keeping along with my other NIB spare/bu V950. :)

I think it's rediculous to require the SE Plan, and before any bashing no I don't have SERO. I would love to buy the Pre but I have no use for Sprint TV and Sprint Music.
If I really want Navigation I will either pay the $2.99 a day or use my external BT GPS receiver.
I understand Sprint wanting to make a buck but seriously.

Will not buy because of the following:
1. Screen size
2. Will not have the software I need - BibleReader, Mobipocket, Resco Explorer
I don't need MSReader because I have an application that will convert MSReader files into HTML files and then I can use Mobipocket Creator to convert HTML files to the Mobipocket format.
I'm assuming that the Pre will have it's own version of the following programs:
1. Go
2. Sudoku
3. Four Winds Majhong
4. Texas Hold'em
5. Live Search
I'm in the process of setting up my Hosted Exchange account with Sherweb, so syncing will not be a problem.

ok, so i know this is not a discussion about SE plans, but just throwing in my 2 cents on some of the above comments...
personally i dont really see a point to having the phone without being able to access ALL of its great features...and for that the SE plans are best. Im not complaining because i have a SE family plan and i use lots of features of it right now on my centro...and i'll have even more features like gps when i get my pre.

Because lots and lots of people are on plans that already have the ability to access ALL of its great features. They just aren't technically SE plans.

Since I posted above, yesterday I decided not to get it beacause it won't have a removable SD memory card, which sux.
But, I may still get it anyway being I don't intend on using it but just to have.

Unless you watch movies on your phone - what can possibly take up 8 gigs of memory so quickly? Music maybe, movies maybe. But if you do that it will burn the battery so fast you'll have to carry a charger. I find it just as easy to carry my iPod touch and my phone as it is to carry a phone and a charger. I don't know - i guess i just don't get the "No removable SD, no deal". I clearly don't use my phone how most, or some, people do. I have a removable one in my Q9C, but its only 4 gigs and I still have plenty of room.
For those that won't buy because of the non-removable memory, what do you put on your phone that is over 8 gigs? Or is it just a convenience thing?
Maybe.
The text on Sprint's Pre page (http://now.sprint.com/pre/?id9=vanity:pre) suggests that an Everything plan is going to be required.
I have unlimited data as is, but mine is a Talk plan -- and I'm not sure how I feel about switching from the handful of freebies I have.

For starters, I think the most of what will be on peoples phones are music #1, and Movies/videos #2. I have, for example.. on iTunes (using iTunes because it tells me the gigs on the bottom of the window) I have 1443 songs, 102.5 days, 5.84gigs of music. And that's just here at work. My house is a different story..
