Looks pretty well done actually, has anyone tried this? The $15 price tag seems a little steep, but it looks good.

ahhh you beat me to it:
here's a link to the dev:
www.tealpointsoftware.com
i have been trying the shareware version of it and it looks and works pretty cool after an initial slow setup when you first start using it. i haven't been able to get cards to show up though. after i exit a program, it spits me back out to the default palmOS launcher instead of staying in the tealOS launcher...gonna keep playing with the settings to try and get it to work.
yeah $15...ehhh may wait until whenever the Pre is released to spend any money

totoro80, I think there is a setting that you choose to always use tealOS as the default launcher. Each time I "Home" from an application, the cards are there. Check the settings.
BTW - This launcher is pretty cool. I'm still trying to figure out:
1) How to properly change the background image. I know how to import, but it doesn't seem to automatically scale down the image to fit.
2) Why some programs have two icons now (My Centro, ptunes, Security)
Oh, and here is the correct link:

I can answer the 2 icon problem, its showing the ram and rom version of the application...well at least I got 2 ptunes and 2 MyCentro...so yea that's the only explaination I can think of

So I updated my touchlauncer yesterday.. All of a sudden I couldn't arrange my icons like I use to.. Wasn't happy about that. Program still works great. So I said what the hey.. I downloaded the TEALOS UI. You know I am actually impressed by this program..I have wowed everyone at work. The fellow centro users are all downloading it tonight. I must say if this is how the palm pre is going to be (understandably alot better) Palm and sprint have a hit on their hands. I love how you can just move cards around minimize, downsize or discard them. I don't have any conflicts with my centro. I have butler, touchlauncher and a couple other apps on.. No problems. I did a restart after installing (pulled batter) not sure if that made any difference.
I must say someone spent some time into getting this to work on the old palm software. That is why I think it is worth the $14.95. I don't think anyone who downloads it will be disapointed. At least I am not. And I love the wow factor I get when people see me playing with it. It is different than the I-Phone type ui's soo many phones have.
Just my two cents. I will keep you posted if I run into any problems.

My 1.06 still has duplicate icons, even after I did the "Force Scan" and also reset the Centro. I read that some others are having the same problem. I wonder what the cause is.

Well I still really like this new UI.. I only wish there was a way to make/hack/or add bluetooth 2.0 with pbap(phone book push app i think it's called).. Then I would really have no reason to want to upgrade to a new phone.

Why was this moved to the Palm Pre discussion. Anyone reading the thread can see it is about a Palm OS program

If I try this software out on my Centro will I be able to easily go back to the regular PalmOS if I dont' like it?

Yes. It's actually an option within TealOS.
Also, if others are having problems with duplicate icons even after they force scan for changes:
Open up Blazer, wait until you connect to the internet, then close it (go back to home). Then, immediately force scan for changes. I don't know why that works, but it does. I have to do it everytime I update TealOS (they have updates almost daily).

I've spent that last day and a half playing with TealOS. I'll give it a thumbs down. It really doesn't bring that much to the table. The scrolling is kind of clunky and it's just not very intuitive. Glad I didn't spring for the retail version.
