Is Sprint's TEP worth it?
The way I see it is, if your phone costs big bucks, then yes, it is worth it. All though, I must note, March 11th I think, the coverage will change to $50 for dumb phones, and $100 for Smartphones including the Instinct as a deductible if you file an insurance claim on your phone. Before, it used to be $50 across the board for any kind/style of device. But now, not so much the case. Just FYI, IMO, $100 for a $600 phone is well worth it.

^ And it's a $7 monthly premium, right? The thing that bothers me is that after paying the month premium and the $100 deducible, you get a refurbished phone for replacement. Kind of annoying.

In the first year you are paying $184 if you damage the phone in 2 years you end up paying $268. Since I am a premier member I get $150 off the phone after the first year, yes I guess you are risking it to a point but after the newness settles you can always get deals on ebay.

I say this becasue I have been with sprint for over 12 years and have never had a phone lost / stolen/ or damaged. My wife has ruined 1 with water damage. I am not going to buy into the whole insurance thing.

Does anyone have information somewhere about how often slider phones may break? I typically am one that does not get insurance on it, because I take excellent care of my devices. However, with moving parts, like the trackball on a blackberry, I'm going to typically be on the cautious side. Thanks tnman for the post with the total cost for insurance...
