And they said it works on my Dads plan, and my dads plan his plan is only voice minutes, text, and Data. I am still talking to the Rep. Its amazing. Its due next week, but it might get further delayed. The pre comes with a docking station, car charger, case, and thats all I caught. They do not know the pricing yet but will shortly. My Dad is getting it. I will update!

No this is not the Palm Treo Pro. My dad is getting a new phone. And they were telling him about new phones. My dad was going to get an HTC Touch Diamond. But they gave him a list of phones. The Rep mentioned that there were 2 phones coming out soon. The Palm Treo Pro, and the Palm Pre. I specificaly asked about the Palm Pre. And he responded saying the Palm Pre not the Palm Treo Pro. Don't believe me if you do not want to, just wait and see. The Rep also said that he was waiting for the Palm Pre. He specifically described it to my dad comparing the Palm Pre and the Palm Treo Pro. My dad asked which one had a bigger screen, and the Rep said that the Palm Pre had a bigger screen because the keyboard slides up. And that the Palm Treo Pro had a smaller screen but does not slide open, the keyboard is on the front (it did not sound like he was getting them mixed up). He said that they were going to release it in 1 week, but it is possible it might get delayed a little bit longer. Also, he said that it will work on his plan, and his plan is only voice and Data, I told my dad to ask the rep if it would work on my Sprint SERO 500 plan. And he said it WILL work. The only problem now, is how am I going to pay for the new Palm Pre? Lol. But you guys I am dead serious, just wait and see.

The rep is full of it. There has been asolutely nothing communicated to reps about the advocate program or the release date of the Pre.

I'll bet you $u2000 that the Palm PRE will not be released before March 1.

guys somekid is right, i know for a FACT its being released because march 7th they are releasing the palm pre 2 with 5gb internal memory, 8mp camera, bluetooth, blu-ray and tivo. so the palm pre HAS to be released soon.

It's actually going to be a separate case that you plug into the Pre, that will have a 15slot memory card reader

Thanks some kid for the info. Maybe if there was consistency among Sprint reps it would seem more credible. There's another thread on pricing and availability (Link below). It's over 400 posts "quoting a release date from a reliable source" varying between Q1 and Q4.....the only think people seem to agree on is that it's coming this year...

To the OP's credit - its no different than the masses of people who claimed a Feb 15th date in the other thread who are no where to be found now. One would THINK there would be TV ads and a general build up for the phone - but knowing Sprint, anything (sadly) is possible.

But this phone is being heavily tested by Sprint, so it's gonna take a while.

If it is the case that they are testing the daylights out of the phone, I hope all of those employees doing so are putting in 80 hour work weeks :scare: to get this phone out there. It may be worth it for those testers to do so. Perhaps giving them promises of 20 hour work weeks in the future for compensation on it...

O.K. I like everybody on this thread am very excited about the Palm Pre. I, as I feel the rest of us, have no idea when this phone will be released. I just read the article listed below and have a gut feeling it will be later rather than sooner. Hesse did mention it is still on target for the first half of 2009. However, it sure is fun reading all of the speculating!!:hee:
I agree with Hesse in this article. I would rather they get it right and have a phone work than the alternative. Since they (Palm & Sprint) are counting on this phone to rejuvenate each other... They must get it done right. Also, for all of the "Nay Sayers" repeating Hesse should be fired. Looks like things are looking for the up & up. Time will only tell. Seems as though things are turning around though.

believe the palm people are testing it throughout the day everyday, they are trying to make it crash, run into errors, bugs, anything and everything

I would be more than happy to use it daily, try to find errors, make it crash, etc. I could even keep a log of oddities that I noticed or things I would suggest they improve upon (if easily fixed). And they wouldn't even have to pay me! :headbang2
