It will have full office support, both to view docs and edit docs. I believe DataViz is one of the partners the announced at CES.

that is awesome! that was one of my major concerns as well...i use my mogul a lot to open powerpoint and pdf files...if the pre can do that along with being stable i'm sold!!

next big question is the battery life and when the slingbox mobile will be compatible :fingers::fingers::fingers:

Battery life is still TBA unfortunately. There were reports it would use the same size battery as the centro, but i'm not sure if that is 100% accurate. My centro lasts me 2 days with moderate usage, one with heavy usage, but i have never had it just crap out on me. If it is as good or better then my centro, i'm good!

Slingbox mobile will probably happen in the future, i just wouldn't hold my breath on day one (or ten) for it.

ya thanks! I heard that too about it possibly having the centro battery....which people like i guess...my mogul battery is dying on me...2 batteries in a year and a half...it is draining very quickly and i hate it..always have to have charging on me.....hopefully the pre will be better.

also- i heard that the pre will be able to tether internet...as soon as someone figures out how to do it without paying for it I'm buying it :-) :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

As to MS Office support, perhaps Office 2003 docs will be ok, but I have a concern about Office 2007 Docs since we are moving into a new age of Office 2007.

I think i read somewhere that it had both. I will try to remember where and post a link.

I had read that it will support MS Office files as well, but it hasn't been laid out in plain english as to what aspects are supported.

I would imagine at least Word documents would be supported. Perhaps maybe not Excel or Access files, but that would be a plus. I never really liked editing files like that on my phone anyways... The screen is too damn small to do that sort of stuff..
