I have the Pro-700 & have stopped using the D/C function recently. Can the Qchat "polling" between handset & tower be disabled? I know that the battery life would be increased significantly if possible.
Thanks for the help.

Not sure if this will help, but found it on howards forum and it's for the moto v950... would be worth trying I guess, see if the screens are the same:
--------------------------------------------------
The V950 battery gets drained when the phone is constantly
searching for the evdo that dc uses. You can deactivate
evdo in the data menu.
##3282#>evdo>edit>enter msl>select cdma>done.
The phone will automatically reboot

I was looking for the same thing on my Pro 200 and might have found the answer. The info in the previous post for the Moto doesn't exactly work for the Pros, but what I found is the same idea.
For the Sanyo Pros, go to the ##DATA# menu. Go to Advanced, then Edit. Enter your MSL. On the first menu that appears, go all the way to the bottom and select *More. On the next menu that appears select 9 Hybrid Mode.
Then you have 3 options; you can select either Hybrid Mode (the pre-set option), 1x Only Mode, or EVDO mode.
I selected 1x Only Mode and now the up and down arrow icons and show EVDO activity no longer appear on the phone and the "Direct Connect Unavailable" icon always appears.
I couldn't see why this wouldn't work. Any thoughts or comments, please share.
