Just out of curiousity I wonder if anyone still use Ready Link and does anyone think that PTT will ever come back like it was popular several years ago. I thought with the new Blackberry Curve 8350i interest seem to be leaning for a nice comeback...I hope.

I think it still is here they just have the clunkiest phone selection and the CDMA ones get no pub, not even the new qchat edition.
Honestly, I think that PTT is losing favor with the public. It really just seems like there's a lot more people who get angry when it's in use near them, and people are starting to feel shunned. Maybe that's the big city talking, but, it seems like that in Chicago.
I could care less, except for the people in the restaurant. (not fast food places... who really expects a decent meal there?) I mean like a sit down place. That's just too far. I turn my ringer off when I'm sitting down to eat in public.

I think one of the biggest reasons for not seeing it as much is that the sidekick kinda took its place. You always use to see High School students with it because it was the thing to have but now the Sidekick is what they want.

I don't think sprint even has ready link anymore. I just wished the nextel 8350i was a hybrid.

I to wish that 8350i was a Hybrid or that future phones in the form of smartphones will be push to talk....the days of the ptt flip phones might be history but I can see people having an interest in pda phones that are qchat capable. Just the fact that one might have access to email, internet and PTT might be a good sell. I like the 8350i but prefer to have it in the form like an HTC Diamond or Pro.

Striker911, they still offer Readylink. I think only an experienced rep or Account Services knows about it

Ready Link is going away. They are really trying to push the Nextel PTT though.

My husband and I have readylink on our sanyo M1's. We use it occasionally to talk to each other when we are on different floors of the house, without having to call. I don't know anyone else with it.

direct connect ruled before text messaging and e-mail became the way of choice to communicate quickly. you still see a lot of construction workers, plumbers, drug dealers etc... that use ptt phones but otherwise it's fading
