Would you buy a car from a dealer that specializes in repairing damaged cars?

There is an auto dealership near me that specializes in buying newer cars that have been in accidents, repairs, and then sells them. From looking at the inventory their price is usually about $4000-5000 less than the car would cost under non damaged condition. They have a bunch of Scions in the $9-12k range.

Would you buy a car from a place like this or would you be too scared? I plan on financing $8000 for 5 years and then just paying it off early depending on how much extra cash I have.

"Damaged" as in slight fender bender type accidents OR "Damaged" as in totaled then repaired with a salvage title?

If the price difference was significant enough and I could have the vehicle inspected by a neutral third party expert, then I'd buy a car that was in the first category of "Damaged".

Never checked a vehicle history via carfax or some other source but it might tell you what kind of accident it's been in....

Actually I think it's law that the owner disclose whether the car has been in an accident so if you were to ask the dealership they should tell you
