For those curious about the Pre's size, the best physical comparison/match is the HTC Touch....dimension for dimension it's nearly identical. The Touch's screen size is roughly 1/4" smaller (diagonal) and the outside contour differs slightly. All in all it's a good match-up to get a physical feel for the size.
The form factor of the Touch is one of the main reasons that I dumped the 700p for this device. I'm glad to see I won't have to sacrifice anything size-wize.

I loved the way the touch felt in hand. Does anyone know if the Pre will have rubberized plastic like the touch? From the CES videos it looked more like the centro plastic, which is kind of cheap. Hopefully for the full production version they have the rubber plastic! :fingers:

...and wouldn't you know it....just as I made my post, there was the exact same subject posted over at PreCentral (http://www.precentral.net/palm-pre-screen-size-comparison). However these are comparisons to current phone models...the Touch has been EOL'ed with the release of the Diamond.

If you take into account the usable gesture area below the screen of the Pre - it matches up pretty close to the usable area of the iPhone. Would you agree?

I loved the size of my Touch...too bad it got soaked in water...I'm waiting for my replacement now but yea...if the Pre is the same size...I can't complain.

Would you agree?Just to confirm...based on what I was able to size-up on actual sized photos the Pre's advertised 3.1" diagonal screen dimension, that does not include the gesture area. That is...3.1" is the actual viewable screen real estate.
