Let's post gathered information from higher-tier Sprint reps.
E-care, 99% of phone reps, and most retail CSRs DONT' COUNT...
So, if you know "that guy," or have spoken to someone in Sprint corporate, or some other, more credible, liason, please post your experiences...
Please do not post e-care chats, or any email in it's entirety, (that could possibly get someone in trouble.)
To start off, I have asked my EVP representative for information. He said he has had nearly ZERO official information about the Pre. He has been getting his info in the same manner as us--blogs, review sites, CES coverage, etc.
He has added me to his specific Pre mailing list, to give me "(official, unofficial, and ‘you didn’t hear that from me’ updates)"
He also provided me with this youtube video link. Nothing secret, but said it might be an interesting watch.

So please feel free to post your experiences. Please do not harass Sprint CSRs to get info.
Thanks,
Steven

Further conversation with my EVP rep has informed me that it will most likely be released between Q1 and Q2. He is very confident that the insider knowledge he has is accurate, that is will definitely not be coming out on February 15th.
Still crossing my fingers that it does--but I doubt it.
This is what I have been toldbetween the end of Q1 and the end of Q2

Actually first quarter technically ends 3/31.
ETA: ignore this, you had it right d12. I read that to quick
Although now some people are theorizing that Palm has been telling us the release date all along secretly. They point out that every shot of the Pre shows the time as "3:01" and these people believe that this translates to a 3/1 release date (see more at precentral.net).
Sounds a little "grassy knoll/tinfoil hat" -ish to me, but who knows.

What that tells me, is that the software wasn't quite ready yet, and perhaps the clock wasn't functional either.
This device could have been EXTREMELY BETA when shown at CES, but with a bunch of nice-looking scripts/demos that could be triggered when needed.
Not that I doubt the Pre's (eventual) prowess, but the demos seemed fishy to me, like I have previously pointed out.
Then again, most demos seem that way.
I really don't think we will get it until March, or April, but if we get it sooner, you bet your ass I will there to get it---screw work...

Yeah I saw those articles too! Interesting.. but kind of far fetched. St. Louis - I noticed on your avatar - I used to live in Dunedin Lane (forgot what area that is) and worked in Clayton a few years ago

I wouldn't put too much stock in that 3:01 (March 1st) thing, all the videos of the Pre show different times. I posted this link http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdamaster&posted=1&os=o100 in another thread. I believe pdadp.net has the most accurate information.

Unfortunately Sprint's not that clever. But if they are........I'd be forced to buy one on 3/1 purely out of principle!
