I have been lurking at other boards and viewing post over here and so far many people are saying that they are using this phone as their personal device. Others are saying business because of the obvious features like copy and paste, and cards (a way to multi-task). So when (or if ) you get this phone, what will be your primary use of it? Will it be Business, or Please? Or even both.

I will be primarily using mine for personal and pleasure, but w/ all the cutbacks from my employer I may be using it for business as well, I know for sure I will probably incorporate my work schedule to keep up w/ all the small holes I have in daily schedule
For me now that I don't do the computer work anymore it will be soley for personal/pleasure. Not gunna lie, I'm a phone whore lol. So for me its just having the latest and greatest, plus a new "toy" to play with and show off!!!

I just want the phone for the browser and integrated messaging.
Everything else is a bonus!
If the browser renders pages as fast as it does then i'm happy.

The possibilities for this phone are huge. I plan on using it for both work and personal.
Work...
Say goodbye to my calendar/planner. I plan on using the phone to keep up with e-mails, calendar, appointments, etc. Being able to keep track of everything work-related (and updating everything work related) while on-the-go makes me very happy.
Personal...
Web surfing, showing off/up (friends w/iPhones :hee:, j/k), music, photos (very excited about the camera)

The whole deal is what I'm going for. The messaging and web are the two largest things that I am looking forward to.
This very well could replace my desktop. AIM - moved to the device. Email - all web. Last thing I want to do is check email at home. The synergy portion is what I am all about as well. Being able to sync what is available online. Hopefully they are able to connect with Google just like the Blackberry's can; or at least syncing with Google contacts.
Now if they can just deliver on the hype!!

I was thinking of getting a netbook for it's portability - but I think the Pre will pretty much handle everything I need with the same speed as a netbook

Not being tied to one computer would make my day SO much easier. Now I only need proof it's as good as it seems and an extra battery if it is!

There is my one concern about the device. In one of the videos that is out there, I presume that it was shot the day of CES, but in the evening out at an after party of some sort (I've never been there, but that is what I gather from what I saw). In the demo, the battery was almost dead. I'm hoping that came more from a constant use during the day beyond what a normal day would entail...

Pleasure/Personal...my company doesn't need me to be connected to my email like crackberries. Plus if they did need me to, I'd rather them give me their own phone for me to abuse.

Aren't choices A and C basically the same thing?

Not at all. Some people have their phones for business reasons via their jobs. Some have a second line for dealing with clients.
Then the third choice is for those who will be doing business from their phone, and having it for there own personal use (talking to friends and family).

My buddy carries around two phones in this manner. I've never understood this though. If you HAVE to have a phone for work, why not find one that does most everything it needs to do and use it for both "work and play"?! I would HATE carrying around two phones!

^^Oh I agree with you. But maybe some jobs require you keep your phone open to be used for business purposes only. I don't really know though.

I think i will use it more for pleasure. I have the Palm 755p and i use it more for pleasure, so i think that will carry on to the Palm Pre.
