View Full Version : Why do I need an "additional line" for a broadband card?

I talked with Sprint CS about adding a wireless broadband card to my account.

Probably the first major addition I've made to my account with them in 10 years. In other words: more money from a good customer that pays his bills on time. To which, IMHO, their response should be, "Whoopee!!!"

The rep tells me that I need to add an additional line in order to get a broadband card. :icon_smil

Why?

What's the reasoning behind this? Why don't they just jack up the price for broadband by $X/month instead?

I don't want another line. I don't need additional crap like this. I just want a wireless broadband card.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is this Sprint's SOP for this? Thanks.

It's SOP as you put it. Have always had to add a line and that being the broadband card. Alltel does it and probably the rest of the carriers do it also.

The line is set up for billing purposes and Sprint has always required new lines for devices (phone, aircard, etc). Be like trying to put two phones on the same phone number. Get the idea?

the aircard itself is the added line....... you can PM me to see if you can even add another line to your account.
