Why'd they tell you? "Insiders at Sprint" aren't just going to go around blabbing the release date of such a highly anticipated phone to random people on the street.

I have insiders at sprint as well and they know nothing about the device other than an email sent out to them which they forwarded to me.

I hope it comes out in Feb, but I highly doubt it. I've talked to one Sprint employee who said March, and another who said between April-June. So it's not looking like Feb. They will not release the Treo Pro at the same time as a Pre. That's just poor marketing. No one would buy the Treo Pro if the Pre was available. Thanks for giving me hope though....for a second. :rolleyes:

That is a very aggressive date.... Ameri has a point but i'm really not how valid that is... the Pre and the Pro is marketed to 2 different audiences IMHO.... You have WM die hearts and then you have people that like to play w/ things i.e. WebOS

Honestly though, even though I know that Sprint needs the cash and Palm needs the cash, I would rather Palm wait until they get every single kink out of the armor. That's the most important thing. I mean look at the Samsung Instunk (http://www.google.com/gwt/n?u=http%3A%2F%2Fptech.allthingsd.com%2F20080612%2 Fsamsungs-instinct-doesnt-ring-true-as-an-iphone-clone%2F&_gwt_pg=2). Let's hope that Palm is smart and gets everything right before they rush a release. I think that's what they are going to do. Not only that but Sprint has a new CEO that just came in within the past year (according to a Sprint employee that I talked to). He has definitely made Sprint seem more attractive than it has been in the past. The OP may be correct, I was told by my rep sometime in Feb. I was going to start a thread about this a week ago but I did not want to get flamed. Some folks have said June or July, I think it would be foolish for Sprint to advertise the Pre 5+ months before they launch it. Palm has to launch this soon.
