I have had a mm8300 for about 3 years. A few weeks ago I discovered that the charging jack wasn't working correctly so I went in to get a replacement as I have esrp. I received another mm8300 but I couldn't get any bars in my house unlike the old one and the battery life was only--talk time of 20 minutes and stand by 30 hours at best. They ordered me another mm8300 2 weeks ago and I finaly received it yesterday. I have a couple of questions

--I saw somewhere in this forum how to access when it was refurbished but can't seem to find the post that told the steps even though I have done several searches. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

--This newest replacement gets great reception in my house compared to the last one. It gets 3 bars most places. However, I discovered today that when I put the case on it the outside lcd doesn't work right. It only comes on when I wiggle the hinge and then only for a second. It works fine without the case. A couple of times the inside lcd was black also. Does this indicate that the hinge is going bad? I used the case most of the time on my original phone without a problem.

--Because of the bad battery in this current replacement, they are ordering me a whole new phone I believe but apparently the phone is backordered. If they try to give me a different model what is a reasonable replacement? I already turned down a mm8200

Thanks for any info.....:)

Thanks again!! I knew it was something easy to find! An 8400 would be great will just have to wait and see what they get in.

Well they didn't call me and I finally stopped by today. They said they didn't have anymore of the 8300 but they had sent a different model. It was an 8400!! On the way home it dropped two calls though so I was worried. In the house it only gets one or two bars but so far I've gotten my calls despite the low numbers of bars. We will see how it goes over the next few days but so far I am very pleased. When checking the ##786# it also seems to have a lot less usage than the previous 8300. Maybe that good or maybe not.
