What the heck happened to qchat? Any new devices on the horizon? Smartphones? Somebody tell me something!
I dont believe sprint has made any official announcements of any future devices.

I'm not sure about the chat thing, but I maybe they now have certian hrs.as far as new pda's goes i've read some about new os's comming out in 2nd quarter.Palm is to make an anouncement jan.8-I assume for their new os(nova),google has something going on and a few other things like better faster proccesors, open source.I haven'nt seen alot of details. As far as Sprint specific goes who knows, since the new treo pro is unbranded as yet and Verizon may no longer carry the Palm brand in the near future it seems palm's future is in serious jeaprody but I would'nt count them out yet.New releases seem to be more conceald than in the past for some reason but I think that really means drastic, more evolutionary things are planned. When you consider the fact the pda/ph.demand is rapidly growing should point to really go things to come!

I guess some people are getting lost about Qchat which is another name for Nextel Direct Connect. The only difference is it uses the cdma network with a tie in to the iden network.

I follow push-to-talk network news pretty carefully. My personal opinion is that Sprint has lost its commitment to QChat. It has been months since they have added any new QChat markets. AFAIK, there are no new phone on the horizon. I am starting to believe that Sprint's renewed interest in the iDEN network is a sign of their eventual abandonment of the cross-network push to talk solution.

That's a shame because the first batch of qchat devices worked pretty good. IDEN network is too slow IMHO. When it comes to browsing the web and text messenging its not what I would want. Plus if Sprint was really serious about moving people off of the IDEN network I would think they would release some hot qchat enabled touchscreens and smartphones. A lot of former Nextel Users either has the Iphone, blackberry curve or the touch pro.(just my former group of 30 plus Nextel users) they love push to talk but they want the bells and whistles the CDMA side of sprint has and/or other carriers.(plus the speed;Iden is slow)

I was hoping Instinct would have it, hope future and smartphones do since all the new phones coming out have DOrA.

If it's not on par with the M1 then I don't care. I do need a replacement for my 4920 as an emergency backup

I used to love anything Sanyo before I moved on to blackberry. If Sanyo can bring out the rumored Pro900 with qchat, I may just have "sanyo for life" in my profile. I just wonder why qchat is on standstill. Even if they want to rejuventate the nextel side it shouldn't stop what's going on with qchat. Come on Hesse!!!

I've been trying all avenues to see if Qchat is expanding into any new markets. I live in Omaha Nebraska and Have the V950 and love the phone except that I can't use the PTT feature. If I could use the PTT I would be in heaven. Has anyone heard of any expanding of the qchat markets?

5/28 they pushed an update that helped me keep a DOrA signal, that lasted all of one day. By 5/30 I was and still am getting a "No DC Service", what the problem is?
