Hang tight to that Samsung SWC-E100 ExpressCard you snatched up as one of the few early adopters in Baltimore -- that thing could one day be a serious relic (or rare eBay find). Just over a year since launching the perplexedly named XOHM WiMAX service, Sprint has decided to rechristen the whole thing Sprint 4G after its workings with Clearwire. Reportedly, the carrier will be offering up dual-mode CDMA / WiMAX modems as early as the end of this year (at least in the Charm City), while similarly equipped handsets won't be too many months behind (just like we'd heard). Kinda hurts to know you can't add a CDMA radio into that WiMAX-only card you already purchased, huh?

I hope a usb modem comes out soon if it hasnt already for 4g

ummm. that is our expedience PC card. hopefully noone gets the wrong idea about that. there will be/is already usb modems out for wimax already. you can go to www.clear.com and see all of the information available about wimax.

The combination of both services on one card will be very convenient. Wimax for when your home and EVDO on the road, at least until Wimax gets better coverage.

I don't believe they are any models in particular that they are referring to just that they will be in the pipeline shortly.

Know what would be the greatest? To see one of our 3G or 4G phones teathered up to a 3G GSM phone.. lol

Now that I think about HTC just released a phone in Russia with EVDO/WiMax.

but that phone is going cost an arm and a leg.

I'm still waiting for all spring phones to come with PTT.... it seems like we bought nextel for nothing
