View Full Version : Lakers (7-0); NBA's Sole Undefeated Team

"NEW ORLEANS -- It was the perfect metaphor for the Lakers' perfect start: a dagger 3-pointer by Kobe Bryant, with James Posey right in his grill, that staved off a New Orleans comeback and gave the Lakers a 93-86 win over the Hornets.
The win pushed the Lakers to 7-0, and with Atlanta's loss in Boston it made them the league's sole undefeated team. It's a status they may hang on to for a while -- seven of L.A.'s next eight games are in the friendly confines of Staples Center, starting with Friday's contest against Detroit."

We'll see what happens in April when they meet the Cavs in the finals! I don't care if they're 82-0, they're going down.

Are you serious? You really believe that the Cav's will be in the finals?
Let's be honest. The one year they made it was a complete fluke. Most people will admit the East was horrible that year and was going through a rebuild. I mean the West's 8th place seed would have been 3rd - 4th if they were in the East. That says a lot.
Finals: Celts vs Lakers.
Cavs no where to be found.

I know it's a long season but better hope Boston get's home court in the playoffs. The Cavs are for real dude and this year there deeper then ever. Cavs are even trying to get MyDyess but he will probably go back and play for the Pistons. You would think the Cavs would get some respect from last year since they were in ever game against Boston taking them to 7 games. It's to bad Gibby got hurt and didn't play in game 7.

The only reason people aren't giving them respect for last years performance is because even the Hawks gave the Celts a run. If Boston had swept everyone in the playoffs like they should have, then ran into Cavs and had difficulties it would be a whole different conversation.
Right now despite the Lakers one loss, I think they are still the strongest team in the NBA right now.

The year the Cavs made it to the finals was no fluke. They went to finals that year because they played great defense. I hate to talk about last year but in the playoffs the Cavs played Boston better then the Hawks, Pistons and especially the Lakers. This season the Cavs finally have some offense to help Lebron. Lakers are looking good right now but it's a long season.

It wasn't a fluke but I doubt that will happen again anytime soon. The Cavs were in one of the weakest conferences that year in ten plus years or so. But good for them, they took advantage of a weak conference and side blinded a stagnant Pistons team that year. As for they outplayed the Hawks, that is to be expected since they were ranked number 8, while on the other hand the Cavs were number 2. Despite the spread in seating the Hawks were just as competitive as the Cavs and a big surprise to all. But compared to the Lakers they did out play us but we were still tinkering with our roster and the dust was still in the air about certain things.
How are the Cavs in a weak conference when the Pistons have beat them like the last 4 years in a row!?

The Eastern Conference before last year was a very weak conference. The Pistons were the only dominate team in the East. I should have been more clear about that. There was a reason why a lot of big name stars moved to the Eastern divion the year before last. Hell, if you're a fan you should remember Kobe wanted to go to Chicago during those trade talks because it's easier to get a ring going the Eastern Conference route.

Whoa, whoa! Your team?!?!?! :D
Last night was a good win for the Lakers. They've now proven they are the most dominate team in the West and quite possibly the whole NBA, despite that loss to Detroit.

There's around 70 games left in the season so it's a bit early to be predicting who's going to win the NBA Championship this year. It's all about peaking at the right time and not having key players injured.

Ouch! I can only imagine the pain and suffering and you had to go through because of the one lost. Luckily, all my friends support teams we've already beaten.
