We just recently bought 2 new htc touch pros from bestbuy.

and then i had decided to disable the data connection. and only use wifi.

I bought the phone on the 25 of october and got the data killed the next day. on my recent bill i got charged $75 !!!!!! :scare:for each phone. so now i have a total charge of 308$ bill.

i just got off the phone with a wannabe superintendent who says that even if my data is disconneted i will still get charged for data use with wifi. I'm like *** what is the point of wifi if still get charged. any suggestions on what to do. I couldn't get the 150$ waived.

She also said that one of the phones was supposedly not disabled and that on my next bill there would be another charge of $62:scare: i mean come on.

she said that without a data plan even if you use wifi you still get charged.

any ideas.

hehe this reminds me from back in the day (before unlimited data plans existed) when i got charged for data and att claimed bluetooth had a data charge with it

no you dont get charged for wifi usage but if the wifi connection dips for any reason the phone will fall back to its own data connection the only way to prevent that is to sabatoge the phones ability to use evdo i have outlined how to do this in the past it requires editing your phones settings and crippling its ability to dial evdo.
