for the past 2 weeks i have not been able to receive short code sms from my banks, in which the banks send a shortcode sms to my phone which allows me to verify my identity before logging into my account. ive called sprint regarding the issue where i can receive normal text messages , however im unable to receive short code sms, sprint is still confused on the issue. they check my account, and verified that thier are no short code sms blocks on my account and that i should be able to receive them. is anyone else experiencing short code sms issues with sprint?

what bank is this?
Bank Of America and Chase Bank.
whats weird is that i changed my safe pass number to my friend number and she received the shortcode sms within seconds, however when i changed it back to my number, nothing comes through, for either chase or Bank of America.

im a supervisor in bank of americas online banking technical support so im going to run you through a set of our standard troubleshooting questions to try to narrow down the source of the problem.

Nope, no ports of any sort, been with sprint since 2006. the only change i have made on my account was an ESN swap from my IC902 to my Treo 800w. in which the SEP Unlimited plans on the ic902 is alittle different from 800w.
before i swapped my phone, i was able to receive shortcode sms on my ic902, however , ever since i swapped to the 800w , i haven't been able to receive shortcode sms, well except one, that was from 9114, which was sprint mobile email , but other then that, no shortcode sms have come through.

the change from the ic902 to the 800w may be the probem since its technically changing from nextel to springtsince the ic902 is a hybrid device that uses both networks
how long ago did you do this swap?

then that could be why it can take some time to get everything transfered over in the backend for those short code messages to be successfull.

do you know how long that would take? because for now i have to disable safe pass in order to access my account, in which thats one less security feature that is needed to ensure the security of my account. sitekey is ok for now.
so there are no reports with sprint and bank of america regarding receiving safepass codes in the system?

none that im aware of, i just tested and got mine just fine (i personally use the safepass card because i can) the code arrived in seconds, even with me roaming at the moment.

yeah ive heard about the safepass card settings. how does that work? i know like with paypal, i have a key the automatically generates the code when press so that i can access my paypal account, does the safepasscard work that way as well?

i havent had a paypal device, but the safepass card is pretty much a check-card sized device that you press and it generates your safepass code on the fly

Hi BrettW, how long does it usually take for everything to get transferred over in the backend?
I just switched from Verizon to Sprint, and I'm not receiving SMS from SafePass.
