I am due for an upgrade - currently have the Samsung M500 on a SERO plan. I'm hoping to get the LG Lotus - Looks like it's going to be $300 - $150 upgrade = $150.
What's my best bet for getting it cheaper? Will they help me at all?
I'm almost out of contract and I've been with Sprint 8 years.
Call account services or call regular *2? Other thoughts?

Call RETENTIONS, tell them this: I can cancel my contract without an ETF and get this phone for the same rate your going to give it to me if I maintain my contract. I could setup new service, use promotional code SAVE50 to get a $50 dollar credit towards my bill, call into CS have them waive the activation fee and have an extra $50 dollars towards my account on top of the discount your giving me now. If I go ahead and renew my contract and you can give me the lotus for free I'd like to renew my contract.
Now that's a little rough around the edges, but you have to make a valid point through-out the conversation that you've been a loyal sprint customer for 8 years and have always paid your bill on time, etc. And after you explain everything to them just let them know that you've been loyal to them for 8 years and you expect to get a little more appreciation than some new guy signing up for sprint getting the same deal as you after practically being with them for a decade.
That's the gist of it, again, really rough, but you have to throw some valid points out there and ask for a good deal. If you've been with them for 8 solid years with on time payments you deserve not only a free phone but some kind of award to go with it.
It's all in the rep too, 9am-5pm, the reps care to much about their job, you call in around 7-8, get a rep that just had lunch and got off their cigarette break you'd be surprised how easy they are to work with.
Not racist or sexist but keep calling until you get a white female.
There are tons of other tips I could work up but you should be good to go with that.
