View Full Version : Only receiving text messages when I make a call

This started yesterday morning on my mogul, then has spread to our little sanyo, and then my daughter's rumor.
We can only send and receive text messages while making a phone call!!!
I was on the phone with Sprint CS all day yesterday...them calling me, testing it, but I'm still sitting here textless :sniff:
Anyone else every have or is having this problem?

this is my first time experiencing this sort of problem, it seems to have been fixed as of last night

yup, still having problems with it....first call in on october 2nd, now it's october 6 and we're still not working right. I called them again yesterday to be told that the ticket is open, and techs are working on it?
sure do miss my text messaging!!!

Sounds like a provisioning issue. Have you talked to Advanced Tech Support? Sounds like your HLR needs to be reloaded as well as SMS reset. Might want to mention that when you talk to them again. Issues like that are usually easy fixes if you find someone that actually knows what they're doing.

great, now when i receive calls....it takes up to 5 rings on the callers end before my phone ever rings (nearly 30 seconds)
Just about fed up with all of this, and being told "it will be fixed, they are working on it"
When and how long before sprint is in breech of their contract with me?

Technically they're not at all in breech. They agree to provide a service, yes, but technical problems to happen. Often.
Call ATS and lay the problem out, do it calmly and professionally. Tell them there is a ticket open but you don't feel like the previous rep even tried to fix anything before submitting a ticket. See how that works out for ya.
Also of note, Tier 3 DESPISES getting tickets on issues that haven't even been troubleshot. So if that is the case with your ticket, it'll just get kicked back for lack of diligence on the original CSR's part.
