Are there any additional charges that may occur? I just downloaded the software from sprint, and am currently using my phone as a modem. Not bad! Similar in speed to my roadrunner highspeed internet service. I just dont want any surprises when my bill comes. Thanks!

Does anyone ever answer any forum questions, or do they just browse the questions? Useless forum!

You waited a whole 29 minutes for a response.....

Insulting the board members will likely make them ignore you......

You will probably be charged if you use the feature excessively. Its intended to be used with the PAM plan......

I hope not...I blew through 50MB of usage this weekend before realizing it's not supposed to be included (talk/message/data share plan). I've read others have used way more and never been charged. If they charge the .03 per kb, thats almost $1600. YIKES!! I used Sprint Smart View and it connected never mentioning anything about charges. The usage hasn't shown up on my account nor do I show any overages. We shall see. Crossing my fingers I don't see anything.

sometimes you can get by with it but if you abuse it or not you can still get charged if you don't have PAM or have a plan that has it included.

Thats what I've heard. Also heard that Sprint doesn't allow the option to add the PAM plan anymore if you have any of the everything plans. If thats the case then the software souldn't let you connect. Almost seems like entrapment otherwise.

nah its no different than how roaming used to be. your phone could roam but you would get charged. just like with the web on your phone. just because you can use it doesn't mean you get to use it for free ;)

and if you wanted it you could find a rep on the phone after a few trys that will help you with it.

I'll have to see if I can get it added. It seems like if you are going to get charged data overages, they would appear on your account page when you log in. The usage I referred to above is absent and under additional data it shows 0.

like i said all good things come to a end and when your buddy gets billed what is he going to do say "well i have been using over 3gigs a month since June?" and they will look into it more and more and he will get charged for it. they can tell when you are using PAM and when you aren't. so if you want a service just pay for it and call it good.

you could say that a rep told me it was included...if I knew it wasn't, I would have paid for it.....they will waive the fee's...but you can't use it again

do you really think sprint will retroactively bill someone if they acted like they really didn't know? no way...

if you really want to believe that they wont go right ahead. i have mine included so i don't really care. i cover what i need.

but then again its just like my parents always told me if you play with fire you will get burned. pretty good advice if you ask me. don't take my word for it though

Anyone know the monthly cost for the PAM plan? I've never even heard of it.

On the old blackberry plans, it was an extra $15. But if you are currently on one of the everything plans, PAM cannot be added.

Yes. If your buddy finds this place useless then why even post??

Anyway, from previous PAM threads everyone has different experiences. Some people use it without getting billed, some people have gotten hit with a major bill, and I say it's supposed to be included in the $30 Blackberry plan.

it is NOT included in all $30 plans only a very few of them if you had employee accounts add the BB plan.

for one he is not my buddy just a confused member. don't drag it out anymore. if there is a problem feel free to do it in private or just report the posts if they need to be reported and for another all of us have found this place useless at one time when we get looked over and what not. that does not give you a right to judge. again if you feel the need to continue on the subject feel free to PM me, we really don't need to discuss this any further in the open

See, this just proves what i said earlier that there are different experiences. It IS included in my $30 plan and i don't have an employee account.

It may be useful if you want to avoid the monthly tether cost to try Shark Modem (http://www.mobishark.com) - BlackBerry Modem. Also if you are on a plan where you can't add the PAM plan. Just my 2 cents. It works! Just found this board today and it's great. I'm glad to be here. Any plans of Sprint getting the new BlackBerry Bold ? > Good joke right : )

Cheers Mate
