Roaming SMS Costs?

Hi guys!

We're in the Houston area and are currently without power (using a generator/dialup to post this). The Sprint tower in our area has been down since Ike hit. Our phones are all getting digital roaming signals because the Verizon tower must still be up. I know that making calls results in high roaming fees, but what about text messaging? How is that charged when you roam? We have unlimited texting addons for all of our lines. Does Sprint charge an extra fee for sending a SMS message while roaming like they do for phone calls?

Nope, text messaging while roaming in the US doesn't come with an extra charge, besides the one for a regular text.

Might want to ask about your plan too, a lot of plans come with free roaming, my family plan does.

Thanks for the info! Unfortunately, I do know for a fact that our plan doesn't include roaming (it's a Fair & Flexible from back before the Fair & Flexible America plans with roaming were available). I did just email eCare asking about the roaming option and how much that would be. Thanks for the info though! It's great to know that we can at least text!

I think roaming text will be the same as regular text cost if you didnt have a plan. It might show up as special usage.

Roaming can be added for $5.00 per LINE

Thanks for all the help guys! I've managed to disable the NAI on my brother's Muziq and am tethering while roaming on it now (my A900m won't allow data while roaming). Our landlines went down yesterday, but I had emailed Sprint beforehand about adding the roaming option to our account. Now that I'm online, I see that they added it to all lines, so now we should be covered. Thanks for all your help!
