I'm not sure anyone has noticed, but, when I went into the Sprint Music Store on my HTC Touch, I received the following message:
"PC Downloads Update!
Important information regarding your Sprint Music Store account:
October 14, 2008 will be the final day to download PC copies of your Sprint Music Store purchases. To download PC copies of your Sprint Music Store purchases, please go to the Music section of the Digital Lounge at www.sprint.com before October 15, 2008. Your computer must have Windows Media Player to download and play these PC copies. Beginning October 15, 2008, Sprint Music Store purchases will no longer include a second PC copy. All SPrint Music Store purchases will be conveniently delivered directly to your Sprint handset. Thanks you"
That will suck. I wish they would just make music downloads mp3 anyways.

Yeah...totally a bad idea. there's no point, to purchase music from them anymore. might as well just get it somewhere else, and transfer to the phone. tho today i was able to download 2 wma files thru the media manager software that came w/ my instinct. not sure how long that will last...was probably a fluke or oversite on thier part.

What was the incentive before this, then? I only "purchased" when they included a certain number of songs free per month with the Power Vision Music plan they used to have... but the obvious incentive to it then was the OTA downloads. If having a PC copy was the incentive for you, how come you haven't been doing that with another cheaper "service" anyway? Especially free ones. Just curious as it doesn't make much sense to me, but I might be misunderstanding what you're saying so that's why I'm asking lol.
On another related note, if they continue to charge the same prices after no longer offering the PC download, they're crazy.

They're crazy then, price still the same and no pc backup. I think another vendor should be picked if this is Groove Mobile's doing, the Amazon Music Store maybe or be like Alltel with NuTsie, anybody agree?

Not that I have ever spent any money on this service, but I noticed two oddities:
There is a NuTsie banner on the Sprint Digital Lounge site. What's up with that?
The notice about PC downloads says "(Does not apply to Palm Centro)." Anyone know why?

NuTsie is in the digital lounge, good job. What is fair about them allowing pc backup on certain phones
