Hello,
I sure hope someone can help me. I'm banging my head against the wall on this one. :frustrate

I'm looking for a phone that has decent SMS capabilities, good sound quality, and bluetooth support.

I just picked up the LG Rumor, and it's def not for me. First, it only stores 100 text messages. After about 83 messages, you get a warning every time that you access the messaging that won't go away for about 10 seconds. ANNOYING! Also, for a "texting" phone, seems kind of silly to only store 100 SMS messages. :td:

Are there any basic phones that have threaded SMS? Something stores more than 100 messages is also great.

I also need good bluetooth support. I connect the phone to the GPS on my motorcycle, and from the motorcycle to my bluetooth helmet. This Rumor is the ONLY phone i've used that doesn't pair well with a Garmin Numo 550 GPS. It doesn't really even work - can dial, but then get no audio or no way to hang up via GPS.

AIM/YahooIM would be a plus, but not required. I don't need TV, Radio, or the web because I just don't need those. I'm more concerned about call quality, and SMS features.

I'll also be getting this from a SERO plan, yes I realize that all I can access all the extra features as a part of that plan. I mention this because this slightly limits my phone selection.

I would like to get a BB, but not interested in paying the $30/month for blackberry service plan I don't really need/want.

Thanks for any direction to a phone. It's very much appreciated! :D

The Treo/Centro has threaded messaging and is a very stable phone, in my opinion. Bluetooth, SMS, email...plus all the extra fun stuff like web, TV and radio (even if you don't need it ;) The 755 has been a fantastic phone for me as far as all features.

I can't really think of any non-PDA phones with threaded messaging other than the Instinct.

If that's really what's bothering you, turn on auto-delete in your settings.

As for threaded sms in non-pda phones, I haven't heard such a thing.

The phone for you depends on a few features you feel are necessary. Is a full QWERTY keyboard a must for you? Touchscreen? Etc...
Most phones have bluetooth, but they dont all have the same funcitonality. Such as connecting to your GPS.
My personal recommendation is to go with a full PDA type phone, palm, Q9C, instinct, blackberry, something that has a lot of features and modifyability. Your going to be able to do so much more with phones like that because there are third party applications that will allow you to expand your phone's abilities.
Also, one of the bonuses of the PDA type phones is that they will store almost unlimited messages. I had over 4k messages on my Q9C before I decided it would probably be a good idea to delete them, it took about 10 min... But it never ran out of storage room.

You just have to get the phone thats going to work best for you. And if all else fails, Sprint does the 30 days trial for phones. You can change out the phone for something else if you dont like it.
