Hi :)

I'm currently using the Samsung M300 my mom got my account with but only because I was fortunate enough to fall into some water with my Muziq in my pocket and learned the hard way that my plan doesn't have TEP on it. I'm just about ready to throw this M300 off the top of the high rise building I work at because it's simply the worst piece of plastic I've ever had to deal with.

Regardless, I'm looking to replace it (yet again) with a pda or smartphone this time and have been heavily considering going all out and getting a Curve, Centro, Mogul and Touch.

I originally was excited about the Centro seeing as I've used one and it seems to be a really nice phone, but the more I've read the more I'm thinking of just going for the Curve. I'm not 100% on the features of either as I've been sparingly reading reviews, but the Curve doesn't have anything I wouldn't want.

The primary use of my phones is texting (im not a huge talker really). When I was lurking here back in Nov/Dec I was pretty excited about the Rumor because of the QWERTY keyboard, but ultimately opted for the multimedia features of the Muziq. I dont have unbelievably large hands or anything and don't have much trouble hitting the keys on my M300 (even though it doesn't register half of them), so the size or space between keys isn't really a big matter to me. The thing that turned me onto the Centro when I first saw it was the messaging interface that it had for conversations.

Im looking for something that doesn't have problems with playing music, and possibly video (though not essential). The browser doesn't have to be extremely sophisticated, though I think it should work well with forums as I'm a huge forum whore (Ive only been lurking on this one for 6+ months:hee: ).

GPS would be a huge plus for me. As would Wifi capability.

Dont worry about a learning curve, because I'm more than capable of handling any of that stuff. I've hex edited plenty of ringtones into my old phones and allowed myself to use features that werent necessarily intended to be released with the devices.

So to make that easy for you, I'm looking for something with great texting capability, a good browser, multimedia and great customizable interface. Possibly gps and wifi capability.

I'm also unfamiliar with the data plan stuff, though I have no problem shelling out the extra $30/mo for a BB.

Sorry for the lengthy post. Any help is appreciated.

The curve is best option if you're OK with the BB plan for the length of the phone, has everything you need but WIFI.

The centro if you want flexibility to have text/internet when you want and not be required to have it, however the Centro doesn't do GPS.

The mogul if WIFI is that important and you love its slide out keyboard. Keep in mind you might want to play with Windows Mobile before you hop on a phone that has it (Touch/Mogul).

Ya, I've been looking a lot into the windows mobile interface and devices right now trying to figure out if i am willing to use it. I figure that I wouldn't really have a problem texting with the touch if I were to get it, though I think I'm still leaning toward the curve.

Wifi isnt really important to me at all, its just a cool feature that I wouldnt mind having.
One question I have: I was looking at the touch and the GPS thing. How does it work for that?

If you dont mind touch screen, maybe the instinct is a good match

The touch has a GPS, but it's not "active". Rumors say a ROM update will activate it.

what I meant was, is the GPS something that uses the internet or just a program that works alone. Does it interrupt calls and whatnot. I'm pretty sure I read that the leaked rom does support GPS, I was just hoping someone would be able to tell me about it.

Thank you for the input. I'm leaning more toward the HTC Touch at this point. Im really turned onto the customization aspect of it.
