hi, sitting here typing this while on aol dial-up during ANOTHER Charter ISP
outage, trying to get my 9000 to operate in phone-as-modem mode. i have read (slowly) many conflicting reports - I have a SERO plan so I have Vision access. Tried to set-up on two Macs...one running 10.3.9 and the other running Tiger. In each case, there was no recognition of the phone by the OS --
Plugging the usb cable in, i get the options - (Pict Bridge, Data Storage and Modem/Standby).. When I select Modem/Standby on the phone, it doesn't change anything...just makes that dialogue list disappear on the phone menu.

Am I missing some software...? Could someone share a little step-by-step
and suggest what I need to do to make the PAM thing happen..? Greatly appreciate any help - the dial-up thing is getting old...and the Summer Storm Season is young ; ) Hate to think of being at the mercy of Charter Cable for the rest of the year - especially with my business dependent on hi-speed access - i'd at least like to use Sprint vs. AOL if i Can...

Thanks in advance,

Mike in Mich.

Do you have drivers installed?

If you do, start a new connection with #777 as the phone number, no username/password.

hi, i could not find anything on sprint's site about compatible drivers - or anything definitive on other sites about whether i do in fact need one....

I'm running os x - Tiger versions on intel MacBooks & desktop...+ older Ti-Book
has Panther (10.3.9).

All I could find software-wise, was a modem script titled Sprint PCS Vision --
selectable in the Network area of OSX.. not clear about what else i need i.e.
drivers - If I DO need em, any idea of how to identify what i need and where to
find em? Nothing found on Sprints site but presumably they don't support Macs or anything that isn't compatible with the latest version (10.4 and up) of Mac OS...

Thanks!

Mike

hi, thanks for that link. so far, doing everything it lists - something's not working. phone's not being recognized... the sprint pcs vision modem script is in the library folder where it should be....

is there some other third-party way workaround i can try? haven't been able to get this thing to see the phone as modem so far- if anyone has
ever had success doing this lately on mac with osx 10.3 or 10.4 i'd be
interested in what you did to make it work. thanks!

hi, anybody know where to get the software? "smartview" has apparently replaced "connection manager." - still no luck trying to get mm9000 recognized
as modem by macbook or tibook running osx 10.3 or 10.4 - thanks!
