So my phone history is... well, much like some of yours, I guess.

Motorola... v500, if that was the model. Then the Samsung a900. Then the HTC Touch. Then the Razr V9M. Then the a900 again. Then the Palm Centro. Then the HTC Touch again. Then this post.

I've come to think that with a home desktop, likely a laptop, and the fact that 99% of the time, I'm at/with either of the two (or near a computer on a university campus), my phone just has to be a damn phone. Simple. Phone functionality, T9 for texting, basic multimedia (on par with, or maybe a bit better than, the a900). Doesn't have to wash my clothes. As much as I love technology, I'm not sure that, say, a Touch isn't overkill.

Would the new-ish Katana LX do this? Given that I do have a phone fetish and place a premium on diminutive size, should I wait for the Instinct? This is all assuming I'm able to return this Touch for credit; I think it's near/just over 30 days.

If not the LX, what else might I look at for small size, flip preferred but not necessary, etc.?

Thanks.

Sorry the Touch was overkill for you. I began to love mine once I downloaded a new keyboard (TouchPal) and made a few tweaks to the Today screen & shortcuts.

That being said, I once carried a Treo plus a Katana. The Katana was my primary phone & I carried the huge Treo in my purse for organization. I hated having both & was thrilled to find the Touch so that I could consolidate the two phones into one.
