Just recently i upgraded to hardy heron just to be on the bleeding edge(don't ask why). Anyways, i've attempted several, several times to connect my M1 to my box, and each time i select the mass storage option that appears on my phone, my phone just spontanously reboots. i have a lot of pics on my phone that i'd like to print or email, but i just can't keep my phone connected!! It's frustrating for me, and i've googled high and low for a solution.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions? I'd be greatful if you could shed some light on my small problem.

peace.

You'll have to dual-boot into Windows for better driver support.

Hey I have the answer. I am running Ubuntu also and here is the fix

you have to edit the following file

/etc/udev/rules.d/60-persistent-storage.rules

and comment out this line towards the bottom of the file
IMPORT{program}="vol_id --export $tempnode"

after you do this plug in your phone and a Icon will pop up then enjoy.

yeah it's all uncommented! check this out;

# by-label/by-uuid (filesystem properties)
IMPORT{program}="vol_id --export $tempnode"
ENV{ID_FS_USAGE}=="filesystem|other|crypto", ENV{ID_FS_UUID_ENC}=="?*", SYMLINK+="disk/by-uuid/$env{ID_FS_UUID_ENC}"
ENV{ID_FS_USAGE}=="filesystem|other", ENV{ID_FS_LABEL_ENC}=="?*", SYMLINK+="disk/by-label/$env{ID_FS_LABEL_ENC}"

LABEL="persistent_storage_end"

No, as i said the lines where uncommented, and still no dice. I appreciate you responding so quickly, and for the record, I never had this issue with Dapper Drake, or Feisty Fawn. I sure someone else can chime in besides TRR!

thanks again!

you did not comment out the line I told you too. you just did the one above it
the line should look like this?

#IMPORT{program}="vol_id --export $tempnode"
