Hey there, I have been enjoying my 9000 for a few months and just recently started messing with things like Picture Mail. I am on a SERO plan and i think it's free. Meantime though, would like to port the phone to one of my Macs and
can't figure out what i need to do since everything with Sprint, like most anything else is so Windows-only oriented - I am totally a Mac user...

So i can connect the phone to a powerbook via the usb data cable... I get the
options, "1" Pict Bridge "2"Mass Storage "3" Modem/Standby. What do i do from there if, say, I want to try to download photos from the internal camera
pics folder - over to the Mac? This particular laptop has OS 10.3.9/Panther on
it... Any special software needed to get these two devices to communicate with each other?

Thanks for any and all advice..

You should be able to download them to your Mac via mass storage, I think the pict bridge is printers. After you choose mass storage all your photos will be in the folder named, DCIM. This is the folder they are in when I connect my Sanyo M1 via bluetooth to my Macbook.

Select Mass Storage and then you can copy pictures out of the DCIM folder in the new drive that will appear on your desktop.

Unfortunately, the USB implementation on the Mac is broken so you might not be able to copy things TO the phone, but you can definitely copy them FROM phone to PC.

We are a rare bunch to not only have a 9000, but also using a Mac.

In addition to pulling files off of my sim card, I also use my 9000 to connect to the Internet, using the Modem/Standby option.

The above posters are correct in that you cannot write to the card from your Mac.

The workaround for getting pictures from internal memory would be to upload them to your Picture mail account and downloading them from there.

All very helpful - Thanks for posting these hints - I'll see what I can
make happen.

Much appreciated,

Mike
