Looks like the keypad is dead now.

I liked the phone but not the camera.

What would be a good, simple replacement?

Want a good camera, good quality (not a big Samsung fan), don't do much texting or video.

Phone is out of contract so open to a new (or used phone). $100 or so, less better or course.

Thanks

Maybe try putting it in an air tight bag with some rice, there was an article in the NYT recently about saving a phone from water damage that suggested that.

OK, I took the battery out and put it in some Damp-Rid. Fingers crossed. Amazed the display still worked. But I may have killed it just repowering it.

They put odd 3 fluted screws, not torq or micro-phillips. Radio Shack doesn't have them.

How do you make sure the ESN is clear?

Thanks for the link.

Yea, just leave the battery out and let it dry. I dropped my 3100 in puddles twice, it got Completely soaked. Works fine after drying it out.

The auction should have something like - Guaranteed activation, clear Esn, etc.

Or they could provide the ESN in the auction, and you'd call up sprint CS and ask if it's clear. If they don't mention anything about ESN in the auction, ask the seller whether the ESN is clear

So far, so good. I got it up enough to sign-up for Wireless Backup and got all my numbers off of it.

I'm probably just going to let it sit in the dessicant for a day or two and then recharge it. If I could get the covers off I'd be temped to clean it with alcohol or electronics spray.

It got unexpectedly dunked in a river on a canoe trip.

If you choose to by off ebay make sure to the above advice. all though some will not give ESNs out because people now can just go online and activate that ESN without the phone in hand. Then that phone is useless to the seller. Or, the seller can just say it is clear and then it not be. Check feedback as well. There are a lot of honest phone sellers on ebay (I have sold dozens of phones there) but there are very many dishonest ones as well.
I just bought a BNIB touch off of ebay. Seller offered COD and then emailed me the ESN to check it out before he shipped it.

I find that I trust people on here selling phones WAY more then ebay now days.
